chapter 4

Safe House – Aftermath

Back in the safety of their private safe house, Samaar sat against the wall, breathing heavily. Ahaana knelt beside him, her hands trembling as she wiped the blood from his side.

Ahaana (voice shaky):

You’re hurt. You have to let me help you.

Samaar (smirking weakly):

I’ve survived worse. But I’ll let you play nurse for now.

Ahaana’s hands shook as she applied pressure to the wound. But her eyes never left his face. She could see the vulnerability behind the cold, ruthless façade. This man—this broken man—had saved her life.

Ahaana (softly):

You’re not invincible, Samaar.

Samaar’s eyes met hers—genuine surprise flickering in them.

Samaar (whispering):

I never said I was.

Samaar’s Safe House – Night

Ahaana sat beside Samaar as he rested on the couch, his wound bandaged but still raw. The soft hum of the city beyond their walls was the only sound in the room. She stared at him, her thoughts tangled.

Ahaana (hesitant):

Why save me, Samaar?

Samaar’s eyes flickered open, his expression unreadable as ever. He looked at her, a cold, almost emotionless gaze—but something else, something darker lingered in his eyes.

Samaar (low voice):

Because you belong to me. You’ve always belonged to me.

Ahaana recoiled slightly, the possessiveness in his tone chilling her. But beneath that icy exterior, she felt a spark—a connection that both terrified and fascinated her.

Ahaana (softly):

I’m not yours to keep.

Samaar’s lips curled into a faint, predatory smile. He leaned forward, his hand brushing the back of hers. It wasn’t an invitation. It was a claim.

Samaar (coldly):

You think you have a choice? You’re in my world now. And in this world, choices are an illusion.

His fingers tightened around hers, and for a moment, the room seemed to close in on them.

Dubai – Night

Across the city, hidden in the shadows of a high-rise apartment, Reeva stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her anger boiled beneath the surface. She had lost Samaar once, but she wouldn’t let it happen again.

Reeva (to herself):

You may have won this round, Samaar, but this game isn’t over. Not yet.

She ran her fingers over a photo of Samaar from their wedding day, her face twisted in a malicious smile. She was plotting her revenge—her comeback. She wasn’t going to let some innocent girl come between her and everything she had worked for.

The Next Day – Samaar’s Mansion

Ahaana stood by the window, looking out at the sprawling city of Dubai. Samaar had given her more freedom than he ever had before, but she couldn’t ignore the tension in the air. She could feel the weight of the choices ahead of her—escape? Stay? Fight back?

She turned as Samaar entered the room, his figure imposing in the doorway.

Samaar (calm):

You’re restless.

Ahaana (quietly):

I’m thinking.

Samaar (walking closer):

About what?

Ahaana:

About whether you’ll ever let me go. Or if I’m just another pawn in your game.

Samaar paused, his gaze darkening.

Samaar (softly):

I told you. You’re mine, Ahaana. And that’s the one thing I’ll never let go of.

Ahaana felt a chill run down her spine. His words had always been cold, but now… they felt like a warning.

Mumbai – Reeva’s Meeting

Back in Mumbai, Reeva met with a group of shady business partners. The betrayal stung, but she was prepared. Her fingers gripped the glass of whiskey as she plotted her next move. Samaar had underestimated her before, and she wasn’t going to let it happen again.

Reeva (smiling wickedly):

Samaar thinks I’m out of the picture. But I’ll make him regret that. And when I’m done, Ahaana will be nothing but a memory.

Samaar’s Mansion – Late Evening

As the days passed, Ahaana grew more restless. She knew something was coming. She could feel it in the air. Samaar’s presence was constant—his watchful eyes never far. But she wasn’t the naive girl she had been when she first arrived. She was learning the game, and if she was going to survive, she had to play it.

That night, she found herself alone in a secluded part of the mansion. A room filled with documents, old photos, and maps of Dubai’s underworld. She dug through the files, looking for answers.

Ahaana (whispering to herself):

What are you hiding, Samaar?

Suddenly, she stopped. One photo caught her eye—Samaar with another woman, smiling, their arms wrapped around each other. A woman with familiar eyes.

Ahaana’s heart dropped. This was someone from his past—someone he had loved before.
