Chapter 1

A pirate, whose heart was cold as ice. He was heartless, no feelings at all for anyone. His heart turned into stone cold when he lost his father, who was killed by the British. Everything changed after his father’s death. This pirate’s name was Zack Wilson, he couldn’t care anymore if he hurt someone. He was mad at the world for taking the only person who cared about him. His anger blinded him from seeing that there were people who cared for him. 

But the only other person who he cared about was Allie Turner, the daughter of the captain of the guards of the British army. Allie’s father doesn’t know that she is friends with a pirate. When Allie’s father would send her to her Grandmother’s house, she would stay with Zack instead. Allie’s Grandmother knew about Zack but doesn’t know that he is a Pirate. All her Grandmother knew was he was a kind boy, who was Allie’s best friend. Allie knew it was wrong to be friends with a Pirate, but she didn’t care. All she knew was he was the only true friend she had that cared about her feelings, her thoughts, and would never force her to do something she didn’t want to do.

Unlike her father, who was trying to force Ally to marry Issac Sandstone, one of the members in her dad’s army, and how many times she would refuse to marry him, it just would not get through his thick head of his.

 But still, he continued to ask her to marry him and every time she would say no, his father would try to persuade her to marry him. For her father once said, “ He is a good, wealthy man that will take care of you, and give you everything you need.” She still refuses to marry him. She wanted adventure, danger, and so much more. That is why she likes traveling with Zack when her father sends her away to her grandmother. But in the end her father forced her to marry him. But the wedding wasn’t happening for another 4 months.

Every time Zack would see Allie, he felt something in him would light up, something made him feel warm, but he didn’t know what it was. All he knew was that he wanted to keep Allie by his side and protect her.  He thought that one day she would eventually leave him, but she promised that she would never leave his side because she cared about him way too much to just leave him and never see him again. 

One night when Allie was waiting for her father and the rest of the people in the castle to fall asleep, she was so excited to see Zack. Since it was her birthday, he told her he got her a gift. Since she was a young girl, she was very interested in weapons. She hoped it was a sword or a gun that she can use to fight with, or maybe it was a pirate’s hat or a talking parrot. She loved the life of a pirate, she knew her father would never approve of her being a pirate, but she didn’t care. All she wanted to do was to sail the seas and have adventures like Zack. Zack traveled the seas for one week every 3 months, and when he would come back, he would show her everything that he brought back with him. Every time he would come back and show all the treasure he got, her eyes shined with excitement. She wanted to be a pirate just like Zack, but he refused to let her become one because that would mean she would have to leave her family and never come back, but she didn’t care.

    So Zack gave her a promise one her 21st birthday ( which was today), she would leave town and everyone behind after 3 months. And she would live a life as a pirate forever. Zack had taught her how to fight with a sword and how to shoot with a gun. She was technically part of the crew, and everyone on the ship loved her. She was the star that made the ship brighten up with happiness. Allie wanted to be with Zack forever, she didn’t care about anything else except for him, and she knew that she had some feelings for him. Allie was afraid to tell him because it could destroy their friendship forever. She couldn’t take the chance to risk everything they had together just because of her feelings for Zack. 

    She tried to ignore the fact that every time she sees Zack, she feels butterflies in her stomach, or the fact every time Zack gives her a compliment, she blushes. Allie tries to deny her feelings, but it comes biting her back and tells her that she does have feelings for him. Avoiding Zack is not an option. He would do something and she doesn’t want to avoid him. Zack is the only actual friend she has. Allie cared too much about Zack that she didn’t want to lose him.

It was 11: 41pm when everyone was finally already asleep. Allie opened her window and slowly started to climb down the tree. Once Allie was finally on the ground, she started to run to the dock. When Allie could see the sea, she started to get excited. When Allie finally reached the dock, she noticed Zack sitting on the edge of the dock watching the moon reflect on the water. 

She quietly sneaked behind Zack. “ Boo!”

“ Aah!” yelled Zack. Allie laughed. Zack almost fell into the water.

“ You thought that was funny? “ Zack said, pretending to be furious at her. 

“ Yes!” replied Allie, still laughing. 

“ How about I push you into the water, “ and with that Zack playful pushed Allie into the edge of the dock, making her almost fall into the water.

“ No! Don’t do that!” 

“ Now do you think it’s funny?” Zack laughed. “ That bastard is going to get it.  It’s my birthday, and I am not going to be treated like that on my birthday.” Allie thought.

“ You’re a mean guy, Zack! Today’s my birthday!” Allie said angrily.

“ You know how they say Zack Wilson is a cold, heartless bastard,” winked Zack.

Allie sat down next to Zack.

 “ So what did you get me for my birthday?” asked Allie.

“ I don’t think I want to give you your present anymore, “ said Zack, crossing his arms to his chest. 

“ Oh come on! Fine, I am sorry that I scared you!” Allie said laughing. It brought Zack a smile to his face, which gave Allie butterflies in her stomach. 

“ Fine, I will go get it here,” said Zack, then he walked away, inside his ship. 

After a few minutes, Allie heard Zack say, “ Okay I am back! Close your eyes!”

She closed her eyes, a few minutes passed by, all she could hear was footsteps coming towards her. 

 “ Can I open my eyes now?” Allie impatiently asked. 

“ Okay you can open your eyes,” replied Zack. 

When she opened her eyes she saw a Pirate hat, a sword, and a small box. 

“ You got me 3 things! I thought I said you can get me one thing!” yelled Allie in excitement. 

“ I couldn’t pick, plus they can help you in the future, “ said Zack with a shrug.

“ What’s in the box?” asked Allie.

“ Why don’t you open it?” said Zack rolling his eyes. With so much excitement she opened the box, inside there was a golden necklace that had a skull’s face coin dangling from it. She stood up and hugged Zack. 

“ I love this necklace! Thank you, Zac!” Allie squealed. She tucked the necklace under her shirt so no one can see it, especially her father.

“ Your welcome,” replied Zack with a smile.

    “ You’re still keeping your promise that you made right?” asked Allie.

    “ I was hoping you forgot about that promise,” said Zack scratching the back of his neck.

    “ You promised!” cried Allie.

    “ And I am keeping my promise, but are you sure this is what you want? Living a Pirate life is not easy,” said Zack.

    “ I am sure this is what I want. I want to be a pirate just like you Zack,” Allie confidently replied. 

    “ You know after you leave this place there is no going back right?” said Zack.

    “ Yes, Zack I know. Don’t worry, I know what I am doing, I just want to get away from here and be by your side for the rest of my life,” Allie hoped Zack didn’t notice that she has feelings for him.

    “ Allie, why do you want to stay with me? I am a pirate, a criminal, I can’t do things like the guy that you are forced to marry,” said Zack. Allie noticed that he clenched his hands into a fist. Was he angry?

    “ Zack I don’t care if you can’t do things other people can. I want to be by your side because you are the only person who has ever cared about me. I want to be with you and escape this place,” Allie put her arms around Zack.

    “ Well then, Allie do you want to be my first mate?” asked Zack. 

    “ Really you want me to be your first mate? But I thought you already had one?” said Allie.

    “ No actually, I was hoping you would want to be a pirate. So I kept that spot open,” Zack looked embarrassed.

    “ Thank you, Zack you are the most caring person I have ever met,” said Allie, hugging him tightly.

    Zack knew he wasn’t a very caring person. But for some reason when it comes to Allie, he cared for her too much. He would do anything to protect Allie, even from himself. Zack knew he had demons, but when he was around Allie, his demons were gone.  Once she leaves, they come running back. Zack is too scared to hurt Allie. He would kill himself if he ever hurt her. She was the most precious person to him, she knew about his demons. But she didn’t care about it saying that she will always be there for him. He was touched by what she had said, by then he knew he couldn’t deny his feelings for her. Zack couldn’t understand if it was actually loved or really just because she was his friend and he cherished her friendship. But whatever it was he would always be thankful for meeting her. She brightened up his world when he almost lost hope in himself. Before he met her, there were always darkest following wherever he went. When he loses hope of ever finding the light, he ends up consuming the darkness. But when Allie came into his life everything changed for him. And he could never thank her enough, for saving him from his demons.

    She was more precious than diamonds and gold. She was his treasure; sometimes he would call her treasure in Spanish which was, “ Tesoro.” When she wasn’t with him, she would consume his thoughts day and night. Making it impossible for him to actually sleep. Sometimes it would be days with no sleep at all because she was all he could think about. At first he thought he was going insane. But then he notices he actually has strong feelings for that girl. The girl who was able to steal his heart from him and keep it with her. When he was away she kept his heart with her. Even if she doesn’t know that she has his heart, he would never ask her for his heart back. Even if it destroys him. She completes him in every single way possible. He was scared to tell her that he has feelings for her, for who will live a pirate?
