2—

Hyun has always been aloof, part of it is because of the environment in which he grew up. Hyun's parents have always been absent, not because they were busy working but because they just couldn't bother with bringing up a child.

When Hyun grew up to be old enough to take care of himself, they bought him a small apartment and sent him money from time to time.

They hadn't completely abandoned him, which made things further complicated for Hyun as he did not know whether he should hate them or not. Because of this, he grew up with abandonment issues. He thought that if he does get close to someone, who knows when they would choose to turn their backs on him and if he was abandoned again...he might break completely. So, the only wise choice was to not get familiar with anyone.

There has been many times when people would try to get to know him but he would never give in, even when he wanted to. To be lonely is painful but to be abandoned again, he would lose himself which he cannot afford.

All those people who once tried to get familiar with him would give up after he would give them a cold shoulder, all except of that one person: JiJi. Hyun did not understand why he was so hell bent on getting to know him, there was nothing much worthy of knowing about him and JiJi was a bright person, he could not comprehend why someone with that personality would be interested in him.

Was it just because of his face?

He sighed and threw it in the back of his mind.

JiJi was currently practicing alone for his volleyball game and no matter how much he practiced he was still quite terrible. Hyun who was leaning on the classroom window glanced at the ground and looked at the sorry figure that JiJi was displaying.

really pathetic. Life experience my ***.

~

The match was tomorrow and JiJi was confident that he atleast understood volleyball rules which was already more than good for him. As for his playing, well, he did not really care much plus there were other players, so all he had to do was be a pretty face.

JiJi smirked. It was true that he was quite pretty, but that was the problem! He was more on the pretty side and not on the handsome side. A man had to be tall and manly handsome, both of which were a little lacking for JiJi. Well, atleast it was better than nothing and JiJi was still confident about himself. JiJi would be confident about his looks even if he was ugly, as the confidence was deep in his bones.

Soon, it was the next day and JiJi came to school, prepared for a war.

"We're gonna win, I'm sure of it." JiJi said to Hyun who was currently busy looking out the window, at the trees.

Not surprised by not getting a reply from Hyun, Jiji started to busy himself in all the things he had learned about volleyball rules and soon after, it was time for the match.

Jiji confidently walked to the court, his head held high and his on his face a small arrogant smile could be seen. His teammates looked at him warily as they had all seen him "practicing" horribly before. JiJi, with a smile, encouraged them with a thumbs up "Fight!"

His teammates: "......"

Just where does all this confidence come from is all they wondered.

Soon, the match begin. JiJi's teammates were confident that even with Jiji, who was only taken into the team because the previous player could not make it for the match, they could win with a chance of 50-50.

The other team was from another local school and both the schools had a history of enmity from decades back. The match went by smoothly and the victory was almost theirs!

Just in the last few minutes of the game something unprecedent occured.
