i got a theory:-
Could it be that they (creatures) r a part of a science experiments (maybe subject of the failer) which they were hiding for years and using kids as there food (known fact). And because of what happened in last season (running of kids) result in shortage of food due to which now they have to kidnap a lot of children at once so that they(drivers) wouldn't become those creatures food.....
