Main Characters Introduction

Isla Moreno – 29, fiercely ambitious, emotionally guarded, lives off iced coffee and petty grudges. Recently dumped and bitter.

Liam Park – 31, creative director, dry humor, hates meetings and loves dogs. Doesn’t take things seriously—except when it comes to Isla.

Harper – Isla’s best friend and HR rep who tries to play matchmaker.

Josh – Liam’s roommate and emotional disaster magnet who downloaded a dating app on his phone without his permission.

Mr. Callahan – Their oblivious boss who keeps accidentally pushing them into joint projects.

Chapter One: The Brunch Breakdown

There were worse places to get dumped than a bottomless mimosa brunch. Probably.

Isla Moreno sat frozen, her hand still wrapped around a champagne glass, as Nathan—her boyfriend of two years—sincerely, gently, and devastatingly said, “I just feel like… we’re not growing together anymore.”

Across the table, her best friend Harper’s eyes widened. Next to her, Nathan’s best friend kept nervously chewing his bacon. Isla blinked once. Twice. Then said, calmly:

“You’re breaking up with me… in front of the entire brunch squad?!”

Nathan winced. “I thought it would feel.... Less dramatic.”

“Oh. Less dramatic?! are you kidding me?!”

Harper dropped her fork. The table fell into the kind of silence normally reserved for church services and tax audits.

“I didn’t mean—” Nathan started.

“—No, you never do,” Isla snapped. “You never mean to flirt with hot female bartenders. You never mean to forget our anniversary. And you definitely didn’t mean to plan this public execution.”

Nathan looked away shamed and embarrassed.

"Hey! Nathan!"Harper punched him in his face before throwing a glass of champagne in his face and grabbed her friend hand dragging her out the door. "let's go Isla, men are psychological experiment gone wrong.”

Later that night, in Isla's apartment buried under a comforter like a rejected human burrito, Isla was halfway through a pint of rocky road ice-cream when her phone buzzed.

📱 Harper:

> You need to get over that jackass! I told you he wasn't any good for you...you need a distraction Ah! I know I recently downloaded this dating app it's fun, a lot of nice people on there. surprisingly I haven't stumbled on any pervs or creeps, you should totally try it it's called BlindSpark. Trust me. No pics. Just good vibes.

📱 Isla:

> Are you TRYING to get me catfished by a cult leader? I don't trust dating apps.

📱 Harper:

> It’s anonymous, but legit. Bios only. They reveal photos later—if both parties agree.

Like dating, but introvert-friendly.

📱 Isla:

> You think I have “introvert-friendly” energy?

📱 Harper:

> I think you have “grudge-holding fire goblin who deserves love” energy.

Isla stared at the app icon Harper sent. BlindSpark. She rolled her eyes, took another bite of ice cream… and downloaded it.

If she was going to suffer, she might as well do it with company. let's see what happens now.
