God Gambler
Ace of Fate
In the heart of Neon City, where casinos glowed like electric stars and danger lurked behind every winning smile, one name silenced entire poker rooms — Kael Renji, also known as the “God Gambler.”
They said he never lost. Not once. Not in poker, not in Russian roulette, not in any game that relied on luck, skill, or raw nerve. He didn’t bluff. He didn’t cheat. He simply knew how to win.
Tonight, the stakes were different.
Kael stood at the grand casino's center table — The Dragon’s Eye — wearing a sleek black tuxedo and a stare that could stop a heart. Around him, whispers spiraled like smoke.
“That’s him…”
“The one who bankrupted the Triad’s gambling lord?”
“Yeah, and walked out alive.”
Kael adjusted the golden watch on his wrist and took his seat without a word. His opponent: Lucius Kane, a ruthless billionaire and underground syndicate leader known for using cards laced with nanotech and psychic interference.
It wasn’t just money on the line tonight. If Kael lost, he’d forfeit the location of Eden Protocol, a black-market AI chip capable of predicting the future.
If Lucius lost, he’d surrender his entire empire.
A silent signal from the dealer, and the cards were dealt.
Kael didn't flinch. He didn’t need to. His fingers hovered above his cards for a beat. Calculating. Sensing. Reading the room like a symphony of lies.
Lucius smirked. “You think your streak will save you from what's coming?”
Kael lifted his eyes. Cold. Deadly. “I don’t rely on streaks. I rely on certainty.”
First hand: Kael won with a full house.
Second hand: Four of a kind.
Lucius gritted his teeth as his tech-enhanced lenses failed to read Kael’s neural patterns. “Impossible…”
But Kael wasn’t just any gambler. His brain operated at near-superhuman levels — the result of an underground neural experiment gone right. He could calculate probabilities faster than any computer, read micro-expressions like open books, and anticipate moves before opponents even considered them.
And he never — ever — made the same mistake twice.
Midway through the final hand, Lucius snapped his fingers. Four guards stepped into view. Guns tucked behind velvet jackets.
“You don’t really expect to walk out with my empire, do you?”
Kael leaned forward, one hand resting on the table, the other slowly revealing his final card — the Ace of Spades.
A hush fell over the room.
Kael spoke softly, “You already lost.”
Lucius stood, furious. “You think I’ll let you—”
BANG!
A sudden explosion rocked the side entrance. Smoke billowed in as Kael’s partner, a hacker named Nyra, burst through. “Time’s up, boss!” she yelled.
Kael stood, flicking the Ace across the table. It landed perfectly in front of Lucius, who was now being surrounded by casino security — hacked and overridden by Nyra just moments ago.
“You see,” Kael said calmly, walking past him, “I don’t gamble. I decide.”
With a sweep of his coat, Kael and Nyra disappeared into the chaos.
By the time the smoke cleared, Lucius Kane’s empire had already begun to collapse — accounts drained, systems fried, alliances crumbling.
Kael Renji, the God Gambler, vanished into the night once more.
