PROLOGUE

As the sparkling night sky lit up my small barely stable room, I thought about my future.. what would happen to me. My family was already busy with my younger siblings, and as the oldest one of the bunch I had to do something that would earn something for us...

I suddenly realized what I was thinking off, and nodded left and right as I giggled onto the mattress on the floor. It would take a miracle I thought as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next day came quicker than usual. I'm usually not a heavy sleeper, but today something was off. I had woken up very late, but no one was there to wake me up. I got off the mattress quickly as I tidied up my bed. Moments later I scurried downstairs from the upstairs attic, as I saw my family staring at a peculiar little note embroidered with real gold and sealed with a red silk ribbon.

I saw my fathers mouth hanging out as if it was some sort of food item. That was quiet normal, but what was not normal was my mother. She looked as if she had seen a ghost!!

I took a peek curiously at what they were looking at to see black calligraphy saying

My eyes widened as I step back suprised. My sisters and brothers sprints to me as they pull my mothers hand me down dress that I was wearing. My parents looked at me with grins plastered onto their faces. They both join my sibilings as they proudly hugged me.

After a moment of overflowing joy and affection that they had been pouring over me, I finally had enough and wanted to know why we had a letter from a luxury academy, and why they were so excited.

"What is going on... why do we have this and why are you looking at me like that..!?! ".

My parents looked at each other and then averted their attention to me. My mother then spoke up.

" 2 months ago, while we were preparing ourselves for the start of the new year there was a rumor of a competition going on in which the winner could win a scholarship to Red Rose... " She said as she rubbed her hands together.

".. And it wasn't a very popularly spread out yet and only the maids and merchants who sold things there knew of it at the time, and since we are familiar with a couple of them we were also acquainted about it, so we thought we could try entering you in for fun".

Mother sighed as she stared at my father who just stood like a rock statue. He, after a moment, saw her and continued -

"Ah- It was a test on your brilliance although it seemed like it was hard we thought you had lost, so we forgot about it until today... ".

My eyes shook with shock and discomfort.

" so that wasn't just a quiz for fun...? "I said frowning.

He sighed and nodded no.

" Autumn.. ".

I stared onto the floor, even tho it was a happy moment for them.. everything seemed too sudden for me to accept. But, this might be a chance for me to FINALLY to help my family. So, there I was, although scared, raising my head high I took the letter from their hands as I slowly opened it seeing a bit of calligraphy saying..
