Hi, I’m Jake, I am 14 and I have been living my life with only my mother and father as they're only child.. At least that's what I thought all these years.

My mother and father divorced when I was 7 years old, so I have been living with my father mostly because I couldn't live with my mother. Father would always get mad if I tried to ask him about living with her. I tried to of course from time to time asking him about mom and how she is doing but he wouldn't answer or even say the reason they divorced. I always wanted to meet my mother after that or at least go see if she was okay or not. So always on my birthday I wished to see her or talk to her again.

When I was 9 years old my mother appeared secretly in front of my house after I came out of school that day, she was only standing there sadly and looking at our door and looking if anyone was there. I was so happy to see her again, so then I started running to her and hugged so tight. The whole time I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming or not. My mother was crying and so was I at the moment but we couldn't help it since we didn't meet each other for about 2 years. After that my mother started to appear more and I would go with her to the park or just hang out outside. We would always go to see the night sky at the end of the day. I would then wake up every morning just to walk early to school with her. As I was thinking, it didn't last long, because she told me “Listen honey, I am sorry to say this but I will not able to see you again because I can't let father know that I’m with you, so please If I ask you to do something in the future please do what I say, ok Jake?”. I was very confused and sad but then nodded to an agreement and before I knew it I was already at home sleeping. She never came to visit after that.

After 5 years passed she came back and she was at school waiting for me. She seemed a bit odd because she wouldn't stop smiling and was once or twice looking at the sky. She would always be passionate to ask me a lot of questions about how I was doing and what I have been up to these last 5 years. She told me that she can’t stay up to my birthday but I was ok with that since my wish was to see her. Everytime we would talk she seemed to hide something from me so whenever I asked her how she was doing she would change the subject and then give me a big smile, of course I saw it was fake but still smiled back at her.
