Chapter 4

At lunch the next day I met my parents, they said nothing so I decided to start.

"I spoke with Reed yesterday and he told me everything. But that doesn't explain why you didn't tell me earlier, maybe we would have avoided this situation."

"You are right, sweetheart, but we just didn't want to lose our most important business partner. And that was a very good marriage proposal for you" Dad said

"You know that you are the most important thing for us in the world and ..."mom didn't finish because she was crying.

I hugged her tightly. I understood why they agreed with this marriage. I was 19, and I still hadn't dated a boy.

“I know this, mom” I told her when I let her go.

Daddy hugged her and continued.

"We love you very much and always want the best for you, but if you refuse, we will understand you."

"I decided to take it, Dad. I know you wouldn't leave me with someone who will hurt me, because I know you always wanted the best for me. And I love you very much."

When we left the restaurant, Mom hugged me tightly, as if she didn't want to let me go.

"What's up, Mom?"

"I don't want you to be miserable, treasure."

"I am aware of that."

When I go back to work I felt as if at least one stone had fallen from my shoulders. Even Reed seemed very kind. And it was sexy,when I found myself thinking about him in this way, I was surprised by myself. I got into work to stop thinking about it.

As I walked to my car I decided to write to Reed.

I wasn't very sure, but I asked him if we could meet. He accepted, we would meet at a cafe near my apartment.

“Hi, you look great.” He greeted me. When I entered the cafe, he was already there, sitting at a table by the window, looking out, with a cup of coffee in front of him.

"Hello and thank you" I blushed.

“I ordered for myself while I waited, but after you are here what will you drink?” He asked as I sat.

"Nothing, I wanted to talk with you." I looked into his eyes, they were so beautiful, gray and somehow warm.

"Okay, what are we will talking about?"

" I accepted the proposal." I felt uncomfortable, I have no idea why. He just looked at me for a few seconds, then stood up and hug me.

We talked for a while and then l go home.
