Kaali the Demon Huntress
The news blared in the background as Aarav quietly ate his breakfast. “Another young woman found dead in Shibuya alley. That makes it the sixth case this month. Police remain clueless...” the anchor’s voice echoed in his head. Each report had the same eerie details — no signs of struggle, bodies left in impossible positions, eyes wide open in frozen terror.
Aarav clutched his spoon tighter. He had heard enough. The dead weren’t just numbers in the news to him. He could feel their unrest. The voices in the wind, the whispers that followed him in silence — something evil was hunting women in Tokyo.
After college that day, Aarav was walking back with his friends, pretending to laugh and enjoy the evening like any normal student. But something kept tugging at him. A flicker in the corner of his eye. A shift in the shadows. He saw a shadow-like figure glide between alleys — unnaturally fast, like smoke that thought.
He knew what it was.
But he didn’t want his friends involved. Not again.
So he made an excuse, let them go home, and promised himself he’d return when the city slept.
That night, the wind felt heavier than usual as Aarav walked alone through the narrow Tokyo alleys, tracing the path where he had seen the shadow vanish. Everything was quiet. Unnaturally quiet. Then he felt it — cold gust of wind . The kind of cold that wrapped around his bones.
A flicker.
A shimmer.
A dark silhouette slithered into a thin alleyway that ended in a dead end.
Aarav followed.
The alley was empty.
He turned around—
The shadow stood right in front of him.
It grinned.
It circled him slowly, its voice like ice scraping glass. “Lucky for you... I ain’t interested in killing males.”
Aarav’s heart dropped. Suddenly, the headlines made sense. The dead women. The untouched men. It wasn’t random. It was hunting.
His fingers slipped into his pocket, clutching a small pouch of salt. In one swift motion, he flung the salt into the air and began chanting a Sanskrit mantra under his breath, the air around him pulsing with invisible force.
But the spirit didn’t flinch. It roared with laughter and lunged. Aarav raised his pendant just in time — a glowing symbol appeared, shielding him from the brunt of the attack. The shadow recoiled but not before slashing his cheek. Blood trickled down.
He fell, breathless.
When he looked up, the shadow was gone.
The alley was silent again.
But Aarav knew — this was no ordinary spirit. It was something ancient. Something that wouldn’t be stopped by salt and chants it seemed to be very evil and powerful spirit.
Something that had chosen him, such powerful spirit can really cause a havoc not only in Japan but all over the world 🌎.
Aarav had understood that He alone cannot fight with this spirit...it was certainly more powerful than him.
Aarav stood from the ground...he suddenly felt pain in his right cheeks, he then touched his cheeks to inspect why it was paining, and then he saw blood in his hands .immediately he turned his camera on to see how much hurt he got.
Lucky, it wasn't much just a single scratch on his right cheek, although it wasn't that deep but still it gave him pain and it bled too.
He pressed his one hands above his cheeks just to stop the bleeding.
Those murders were done by this spirit...but it seemed like a serial killer murderer's patterns...could this spirit be of a SERIAL KILLER ? 🤔 If whatever am thinking is right then...we are in serious trouble.
Aarav started walking back to his house, holding one hand in his cheek and holding his mother's only last gift the pendent.
I'll find out about it and start my research tomorrow....he entered his home and nursed himself.
Chanted a protective mantra taught by his mother before sleeping 🥱 and then he went to sleep.
Tomorrow a big task awaits for Aarav
