Slave to My Twin Stepbrothers
"Mom, is it too late for me to make you change your mind?" Alexa asks her mother, Althea, who is currently in her wedding dress sitting in front of a mirror as a make-up artist finishes her look.
Her mother chuckled at her silly question. She's already used to her daughter being opposed to her marrying again. She doesn't like her to replace her father of course, but she knows her daughter also wants her to be happy. That's why they are now in their gowns getting ready for the ceremony that would take place in just a couple of minutes.
"Sweetie, I know you don't like this. But thank you for being here with me and for supporting me." Althea reached for her daughter's hand and squeezed it tightly. Alexa rolled her eyes but smiled in return. "Fine, but can I at least not come live with you? I'm fine living in our house by myself."
"You're choosing your small shabby house over a mansion? Set your head straight girl." the make-up artist butts in. Which made Alexa throw her a sharp look. "You don't have a say on what house I choose to live in, miss or mister." Alexa says as she's not really sure what to call the gay make-up artist.
The artist raised both his hands, "Oops, I'm sorry for meddling. Just my opinion. Plus! You get to live with Mr. Brown's hot twins!" he exclaimed, while obviously daydreaming of the hot twins mentioned. Alexa might have just seen a drool escape from his mouth.
"You go live with them then." Alexa says while raising her eyebrow.
"How I wish I could" the artist sighs. Then acted like a heartbroken person clutching his heart while bowing down.
Althea laughed at the sight of the two arguing. "Glen, stop being dramatic." then she faced Alexa, "and for you my daughter, you don't have a choice. You have to live with me. You are still my baby. I won't allow you to be on your own. I won't let you live without me by your side." Alexa sighs in defeat.
"But I don't want to live with strangers." Alexa said in a small voice with her head bowed.
She really doesn't have a choice. She doesn't want to live with people she barely knows but she also doesn't want to leave her mother.
"If you just went to all their dinner invitations with me. You will know them" her mother stated. It's true, Alexa never got to meet her soon-to-be family because she doesn't want to have to do anything with them. She did not expect for her mother to marry and for her to have a new family to live together with.
But here they are, side by side walking down the aisle. Althea walks her mother towards the groom, Mr. Brown, who is now smiling widely as they come closer. Althea handed her mother to the groom and as she does, she caught a glimpse of the groom's best men who were identical and of course, looking handsome. She already knows they are the twins Glen was talking about earlier.
Well, she really doesn't care. Not until she caught them looking at her with an intense gaze. She did not let them intimidate her, she also looked at them and raised an eyebrow like asking 'what's their deal with her? Why are they looking?'
The boys looked at each other like talking with their eyes then decided to leave Alexa alone and just focus on the ongoing ceremony.
That was the first interaction she had with her now-family. And the second one would be just minutes away as they are now arriving at the Brown's mansion.
Today is the day that she and her mother will move in.
"Honey, Alexa, welcome to your new home! How's the ride?" Mr. Brown greeted them with a warm hug. Tho Alexa did not accept the warm welcome but nevertheless, she smiled at Mr. Brown.
"Hello, Mr. Brown. I must say it was a long ride. And I would like to go to my room to rest." Alexa said without any filter. Obviously exhausted from the trip. Althea smiled shyly because of how her daughter acted. She nudged Alexa and asked her quietly to behave.
Instead of taking Alexa's actions negatively, Mr. Brown laughed delightfully. "Such a straightforward girl. I would not pressure you, but as we are now a family, you can stop calling me Mr. Brown. Walter is fine. Or dad, much better, but your call." Walter added the last line hesitantly as he knows Alexa is really not that in favor of him replacing his father. "Come, I'll show you your room."
The three of them entered the mansion. Walter led them to the second floor where her room is. "This is your room just in front of Damian's and Damon's" Alexa assumed those are the names of her twin stepbrothers.
She entered the room and was amazed at how beautiful it was. Her dream room was made into reality. She unknowingly reached for Walter and hugged him. "Thank you, Walter! This is perfect!"
Walter smiled widely as he hugged Alexa back and mouthing 'thank you' to Althea as she was the one who informed Walter of what Alexa would like her room to look like. Althea smiled happily as she watched her daughter and now-husband start to form a bond.
"I'm glad you liked it. We'll leave you to it." Althea and Walter left her alone in the room as they went downstairs to prepare for a small celebration.
Alexa immediately went for the bed as she was really tired from the 5-hour trip they had. She was satisfied with her room and glad that Walter made an effort to make her comfortable. Now, she's not that sad about leaving their old home. She's now looking forward to her new life with her new family.
