Shades Of Blue
Sweetie, I will ask you this one more time...who did this to you?- the woman at the police station asked Michelle again with even more concern than before.
Michelle refused to look at her and continued to stare at the gray floor under her feet. Everything seemed blurry, the past few hours seemed to have been a product of her imagination. What was she supposed to do or say? There was no way she could say the truth of what happened, that would result on Jaxon getting arrested.
The sudden touch of the womans glove covered hands made her jump, -I'll say this once baby, if someone loves you this is the last thing they'd do to you- she said while tracing the bruise that started on the girl's left eye and ended near her collarbone.
Michelle's blood boiled, who did that woman think she was to speak on the matter as if she were part of it. She knew nothing about them yet there she was giving her unwated opinion. Michelle wanted to scream and run away from the police station as fast as she could, yet her legs were frozen still. All the girl could think of was going home and going to bed next to Jaxon. She knew everything would be better in the morning, it always was.
-I'm going to take a couple of pictures of your bruises to start an investigation since you don't want to cooperate with us sweetie- the officer announced and Michelle realized she had to act fast if she wanted to avoid making the problem even bigger than it already was.
-No need for that, I'll tell you what happened- she spoke for the first time catching the officer by suprise. -I was going to the store to buy some tampons when a group of guys around my age decided I looked like I carried a shit ton of money so they decided to steal from me- Michelle spoke carefully while at the same time her mind went crazy putting together the perfect plan that would get her out of the annoying situation she was in.
-So you were a victim of theft yet you decided on protecting those who did this to you?- the officer asked raising her eyebrow.
-It's not that im protecting them, its just that this kind of crap happens all the time and the police never does anything about it... so why even bother- the girl replied with a clear venom on her tone.
The woman let out a frustrated sigh, Michelle would say everything but the actual truth. It was obvious that the teenager had been another victim of violence but without her wanting to press any actual charges there was nothing Officer Kelly could do.
-Can I go now?- Michelle asked looking around trying to seem bored when she actually was trying to contol the panic attack that was on it's way. She was sure that as soon as she set foot outside she most likely would puke her guts out due to the stress she was holding in.
-Yes, you can go- the officer replied and Michelle stood up so fast she made herself dizzy. –But not before I get those pictures-.
Michelle rolled her eyes and sat back down –make it quick-.
The blue haired girl sat still as the officer gently held her face and pointed the camera at her. The flash was annoying and hurt her eyes but at the same time it reminded her of the lights at the club were Jaxon enjoyed going.
Jaxon...Jaxon...Jaxon....What could he be doing? Where even was he? Would he still be mad at her when she got home?
All those questions invaded Michelle's mind and made her even more anxious than she was while being interrogated.
Jaxon wasn't perfect neither their relationship, but that was all Michelle had. No family, no friends...Just Jaxon and the relationship they shared. It hadn't always been like that... back in foster care she had a friend. That same friend tried to convince her of not running away with Jaxon but after seeing her determination all he said was "Do whatever you want I don't care enough to stop you." and that was the last thing she heard from him.
Now her world rotated around Jaxon, he was her eveything. Everyone that had seen them together knew she was willing to follow him all the way to hell and back. That's why no matter how many times he hit, left or shouted at her, she would always make sure nothing bad happened to him. After all that was what love meant, wasn't it?
-It looks like we're all done- the officer announced interrupting Michelle's thoughts.
The girl stood up once again and put her black sweatshirt on making sure to wear the hood in a attempt to cover the huge bruise on her face.
-If you ever decide to speak out you can always come back. Just ask for Officer Kelly-.
Michelle stared at the woman but didn't say anything, instead she turned around and left as quicky as posible fearing she would vomit at any moment.
On her way out she noticed three guys sitting down with their hands handcuffed behind their backs. Two of them spoke amongst each other completly ignoring her while the other one stared back at her. His blue eyes meeting her's, Michelle noticed the huge scar covering his face but looked away quickly fearing he'd get mad at her for staring at it.
The blue haired girl walked by as fast as she could but she could feel his stare on her back almost as intense as bullets.
A relived sigh left her plump lips when she finally reached the exit. Just when she thought her day couldn't get any worse she saw the wet streets. The pouring rain didn't show any intentions of stopping anytime soon.
The cold breeze immediately hit her body when she opened the door, Michelle shivered and tried to protect herself from the rain as much as she possibly could. Just then the girl saw something that made her heart beat faster and the butterflies in her stomach became more alive than ever.
Parked in front of the police station was her boyfriend's car and next to it was standing a soaked by the rain Jaxon. Suddenly the sickness Michelle had been feeling was replaced by pure happiness. He cared about her, he really did.
Michelle ran torwards her boyfriend as if she hadn't seen him in years. Jaxon greeted her with open arms and picked her up in a tight embrace.
-I'm sorry baby, I acted like a complete ****. I'll never do this to you again- he spoke as he kissed her face specifically where the bruise was.
-Don't worry about it, all that matters to me now is that you're here with me- the blue haired girl replied and kissed her lovers lips once, twice and a third time.
Little did the couple know Officer Kelly had been watching the whole scene from the station's window.
-Mr.Anderson, I'm going to need you to keep track of that young lady starting tomorrow- the woman spoke to the officer next to her. –You can count on me boss- he replied and looked out the window to see the couple getting in the car.
-I'd love to do it myself but I have other important things to attend- Officer Kelly spoke and turned her head to look at the three males sitting down.
-Leonidas, what did you and your friends do this time?-.
