chapter 5

Summer's POV

We departed not so early as we spent time together. My mom called me and said she had seen a marriage proposal while I was with Josh.

Josh heard it. But he didn't say anything. That silence was so scary. He slowly left me at the dorm and left bidding goodbye.

For the so-called marriage proposal, I have to go to my hometown so that I could see them, and they could see me in reality.

So, as for my parents , I packed my bags and messaged my madam whom I work for and said I won't be coming for a few days.

So here I'm... In my home, in our hall, on our couch.... In front of me sitting the whole family of some unknown person.

"what work do you do?", a woman in her early 50s asked me.

"for now I'm studying and I am also into the teaching field for now." , i replied with a low voice.

she looked at the man beside and they looked at each other for a minute.

Did I do something wrong? be it, all i need is to ruin this marriage. Isn't it.!

They continued to shower questions and i replied in one word.

"YES"

"NO"

"I do know"

"I WANT TO STUDY."

Now, this was frustrating.

Questions that are stupid enough to answer. Seriously? They want my salary and if not they want me to be a housewife.

Who are they to even talk about my work, my study and my money?.

.

Not so soon, they left.

that's a breather.

"ouch~" , I hissed in pain .

 My mom came out of nowhere and cracked my head.

"Is that the way you speak to your elders?", my mom asked with a bit of anger.

I shook my head negativity and said ," I didn't want this marriage in the first place. So, that's a little trick to follow." I winked at the end.

My mom is so possessive about me that sometimes I want to die because of the suffocation. Yet, she is a strong figure whom I admire. Not to mention, she is my best friend.

"do you love someone or what?', my father spoke hearing our talk from a distance.

yes, I do love someone. But how are these words going to come out of my mouth??

Has any job?

No., He isn't settled.

Have any houses?

No., he lives in a rented house with his father.

Have any side businesses where their family runs?

No.

At least his family is good?

yes, but....Has a bad reputation in society.

What I'm going to say if my father asks any of these questions??

"summer", my dad's voice is full of Stern.

"yes, dad?!", the attention answer came from me.

"If yes , you love someone. Nod or if not shake your head. Be straight either with words or actions.", he stated.

I nodded .

my mom and dad froze.

My dad left from there hearing me.

my mom doesn't know what to say... she too left silently.

I was confused? Scared? Happy? Determined?

I don't know what's going on in my own fuçking head.

Argh!!!!

this is frustrating.

Now, what will dad say?

Will he make me bring Josh?
