Willowbrook & Rosehollow vs Ravyn the assasin

The villages had finished their preparations, and their weapons were ready. Traps lined the streets, hidden blades lay in wait, and every villager believed they were prepared for the Assassin. But as the night dragged on and no attack came, their confidence wavered. Exhaustion crept in, and one by one, they drifted into sleep.

That was exactly what Ravyn wanted.

Perched in the shadows beyond the village walls, her white hair glowed faintly in the moonlight. A cruel smile curled across her face. Let them wait, she thought. Let them believe I will never come. That is when I strike. She could already taste their fear, and it delighted her.

But the villagers were not as foolish as she believed. Eldric Thorne and Branik Hollowfall had left behind a hidden weapon of their own design—an intricate mechanism built to detect intruders. If anything crossed its path, it would spring to life, launching a deadly strike before the enemy could blink.

When Ravyn finally stepped forward, the mechanism clicked. The air shifted as gears turned and steel bolts snapped into position.

But Ravyn only laughed, her voice slicing through the silence.

“You cannot trigger me,” she hissed. “I am invincible.”

The surrounding shadows writhed, as though alive, swallowing the moonlight as she prepared to unleash her fury on Willowbrook and Rosehollow.

Ravyn’s laughter grew louder, echoing like a blade across the village. Shadows spilled from her hands, twisting and writhing as they devoured everything they touched—walls, weapons, even the earth beneath her feet. She could almost taste victory.

But then, the villagers awoke. Shouts filled the night as they grabbed their weapons and unleashed a storm of arrows, spears, and bolts. Ravyn moved like smoke—slipping, weaving, dodging every strike with inhuman grace. Not a single blade touched her.

Frustration spread quickly among the defenders. Desperate, they released their most powerful weapon: a massive war-wolf, trained to protect the village since birth. Its fangs gleamed, its eyes burning with fury as it lunged at her.

Ravyn’s smile only widened. With a swirl of her shadows, she caught the beast mid-leap. Its howl split the night before her darkness swallowed it whole. The villagers froze, horror in their eyes.

One by one, they fell. Ravyn’s shadows consumed them without mercy, until the screams faded into silence. When it was over, only two figures remained standing—Eldric Thorne and Branik Hollowfall, their faces grim, their weapons drawn.

Eldric’s voice was low but urgent. “We can’t win this fight. Run, before she takes us too.”

Branik hesitated only a moment before nodding. “Alright. Quickly—go!”

They turned to flee, but before they could take more than a few steps, the shadows closed in. Ravyn stood before them, her pale eyes glowing in the dark. The two men froze, their hearts pounding as her laughter rippled through the night.

Yet instead of striking them down, she tilted her head, studying them like prey she had no interest in killing.

“Pathetic,” she sneered. “You are nothing. Useless. You could never defeat me.”

Her laughter rose, cruel and triumphant, shaking the air around them. And then—just as suddenly—she stepped back, letting the shadows part. Eldric and Branik were left standing, shaken but alive, as her laughter echoed long after she vanished into the darkness.
