** Valli's maternal house, in her room**

Valli is sitting in her room on the bed with the baby on her lap thinking about something seriously. The house is very old one constructed by grandparents of valli's grandfather. The house itself has a retro vibe but the disadvantage is that it did not have many rooms and valli's parents gave her their room as she is a patient and has a baby with her right now and the room next to that room is the room of her brother and his wife. These two rooms are directly connected to the hall and the kitchen constructed seperately behind the bedrooms along with the store room. The store room is mostly empty and is only full for a month during the harvest. Once the harvest is out for sale only the remaining rice bags required for the whole year are left in the room giving more space to play or do group studies or anything else. But this place is mostly used by kids to play as they can be close to their mother's in the kitchen. The washrooms are located right behind the kitchen in the backyard along with the space for washing clothes and a well from which water are taen to wash clothes and also water the plants. The backyard and front yard of the house has large amount of space and most of this space is filled with flower plants and vegetable plants which are used for pooja or for making curries in the house

**in the room next to valli's room**

Devi is sitting on the floor and breast feeding her younger son while her husband srinu is sitting on the bed and is reading a newspaper. Devi wanted to talk about something with her husband but she doesn’t know how to start talking about that, srinu who observed her hesitation and asked her

Srinu: What happened devi? Is there something on your mind?

Devi: Nothing dear… I am just thinking about the welcome that is planned for valli today.

Srinu: What's with the welcome. Is there something wrong about it?

Devi: There is nothing wrong with the welcome. It is just that they gave valli and her child a grand welcome while when I came home with their grandson there was no one to welcome me and the child home..

Srinu: so you think that they are giving her more importance than you despite you being the daughter-in-law of the house.

Devi: no…there is nothing like that what I am thinking is that about what I can do to win their favour.

Srinu: there is no need for you to win their favour or anyone in the house. You can just be yourself.

**Srinu thinking**

It seems that my wife is feeling inferior in front of valli as they are taking care of her more that devi. But valli just delivered and came home and for her to think that they are giving more importance to valli…wait..i should not think this way about my wife. She is my wife and whatever she does is right. She is not a fool and even her thoughts are correct they did not even give me my tea being so busy with taking her of that stupid little sister of mine. I have to do something about this I can't make my wife feel inferior to someone else in her own house… I have to make sure that she leaves this home as soon as the baby hits 3 months and in the meantime I should take care that my wife feels safe in this space.

Meanwhile

**valli in her room**

Valli took her mobile wanting to call her husband and tell him about what happened here and that she feels bad about whatever her mom said to her father about them but restrained as this will cause a conflict between her husband and maternal side of the family which is not she wanted in all cases irrespective of the situation. Also this woulg give her in-laws a chance to talk about her family. Especially her husband sister and her mother-in-law who is always ready to scold and blame her for whatever happened irrespective of her part in the fight and also that her maternal family will be seen inferiorly if they get to know what happened here. So she decided to keep her mouth shut for the time being and that she would tell him about this if things are still happening in the same way and that her brother would support her if things are not good or if her mother is saying nasty things about her family because despite their current relation her husband and her brother have been friends since their third standard and that he would not allow their mom to call his friend names. But little did she know that her brother who she thinks will support her will be the one to torchure her and make her stay here hell for as long as she is here that she might hurt her baby unable to bear the pain of mental torment instilled in her by her brother.
