CHAPTER THREE

Khair tiptoed silently into the room and gently nudged Aryan. It was quarter past seven, in the morning and he needs to leave the house by half past seven, so do she, as today is her first day as a resident in the biggest hospital in the whole country, Elite Union Medical Centre (EUMC).

Well, she also attended Hankuk University, Seoul, South Korea and has just returned, so she has not yet familiarize herself with all stuffs going around here.

"Aryan" she gently called.

"Wake up, you'll be late for work."

"Mmm!" he mumbled as he drew the blanket to cover his face.

She quickly collect the blanket from him, before saying;

"Its already eight a.m, better get out of bed." with that she strode out of the room.

At the mere mention of eight o'clock, he jumped into the bathroom and quickly showered. He got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast. He drank his cup of coffee quickly before saying;

"See you later."

It was when he got to his office that he had the time to look at his watch. 7:31am.

'Really? Could it be that this watch is faulty?'

He thought as he looked at his phone,7:31am.'Aish! this girl has rushed me for nothing.'

Just then he heard a knock on his door.

"Yes? Come in."

The new residents were already waiting for the doctor to come. A nurse was sent to get him.

He was the only doctor that has arrived and fortunately, some of the new residents were assigned to his team.

He collected the list and started with the roll call. He knows they're supposed to be ten in number, but only nine of them are here. He was curious to know who's the last person. The very moment he flipped the last page he heard a voice, and he noticed the name.

"I'm sorry, I'm late!" she said as she walk in half-walking, half running.

Aryan looked up from the list, and their eyes locked in the air.

Both of them looked transfixed for a moment. Then the next minute, they blurt out at the same time;

"How comes it is you?"

"Princess?" Aryan said trying to regain his composure.

"You're also a resident?"

"Young Master? You are also a Doctor here?"

"Well, after your orientation, meet me in my office."

He then turned to all of them and welcome them, he gave them a brief orientation and hand them the hospital handbook, which included the hospital rules and regulations. Khair tried so hard to concentrate and focus on what he was saying, but she couldn't. She didn't even know when he finished. It was only when a nurse said;

"Doctor Aryan, your attention is needed, right away."

Before she can back from her train of thoughts.

"Princess and Nadia, follow me." he said before he left. They followed him, it was a patient that was brought. The patient was exhibiting symptoms of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Liver Failure.

"Nadia, state out the symptoms of this patient." said Aryan.

"It includes Jaundice, abdominal pain, and weight loss."

"Interesting. Princess?"

"Its Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Liver Failure Secondary to Primary Cirrhosis." she replied.

"Brilliant."
