The Hidden Realm Of Magic
First day of senior high at my new high school, Crimson Academy and I can already feel the pressure on me about finals and smell the marijuana. The entire senior block is filled with hippies, jocks and cheerleaders, typical high school cliques.
My parents got divorced last year and my dad remarried a month later and him and his new wife moved to Black-Creek, Wisconsin, a small modern town in the middle of the state. A few months later money got really tight at home and mom lost her job so he fought with her to send me to Wisconsin to live with him, going on about how my grades will boost up and I'll make better friends, how little did he know. My mom finally thought about my future and I was actually pretty excited to move here. They put me in this rich school with some really high prioritized kids, lucky for me though I moved here over the summer vacation and I had enough time to catch up, my dad had encouraged me to go make friends with the neighbours kids and I had met my best friend. Eden Maire, she's the sweetest, curly brown hair, green eyes and the most average height. Eden and I had gotten really close in 2 months and before you know it we were going into senior high together.
She held my hand while we walked through the hall and gave it a squeeze of support, she knew I was nervous and I loved her for that. I gave her a quick trembling side smile while kids glared at me like in was their next prey. At my old school I was one of the popular kids so I knew all their tricks. My long curly black hair fell in my face and stuck to my red lipgloss, Eden scooped it behind my ears and told me to never let my pretty blue eyes hide, she gave me a quick pat and pointed down the hall to my locker. "That's your stop." she said and gave me a wink. I made my way to my locker and punched in the three digit code. Before I could retrieve the school's ground map from my locker and brunette girl wearing a red and yellow cheerleading uniform ran up to me, "Goooo Crimsons!" she shouted in my face. And I took a few steps back, "You must be the new girl, how do you feel about cheerleading? You look like you have the body for it." "Oh sorry, I'm Ophelia, but you can call me Phee," she babble on. "I'm Amara, nice to meet you and no offence but I don't like cheerleading, " I said, hoping she'd either hate me for life and walk away or just walk away. "Thats because you haven't seen the crimson lionesses yet. Gotta run, Welcome to Crimson Academy!!" and she trotted off behind two girls holding gym bags with their hair in messy buns. "Not too bad of a first impression then?" I thought to myself and the rest of my first day went exactly how I thought ot would, teachers went on about finals and apparently you cant get suspended for throwing ramen at the lunch lady. "This year is gonna be rough" it thought to myself.
