Cora’s house my sanctuary, a place to vent my anger and talk nonstop to my best friend. I took a pause then knocked on her front door a friendly looking, middle aged woman_ Ms. Anderson_ welcomed me in and told me Cora was in her room, I climbed up the stairs and went in. Cora was on the bed checking her social media page Again, she didn’t hear me coming.

I moved close to her ear and whispered, “ You need to lock your doors more often, what if I was a pervert?”

She turned to me shocked then I jumped on her, and we started giggling.

“ Oh my God Jazz you scared me half to death” Cora said smiling

“Yeah I love doing that” I said smiling like a creep

“ Well stop it” She said hitting me on the arm

“Anyways what was the urgent situation you were telling me about” she said sitting up

I hesitated “ You know you’re the dating around type, can you tell me the signs if a boy likes you”

Her breathe hitched and burst out laughing “ This is about Leo right?” I didn’t answer “ I knew it other than me he was the only one who was close, and I knew he liked you, so what made you notice, oh no let me guess you guys confessed your love or you guys suddenly saw each other”

“Hey stop laughing at my misfortune, since you knew why didn’t you tell me?” I said turning red at the thought of Leo

“You think past Jasmine would believe her mortal enemy secretly has a crush on you, that’s crazy even coming from me but it’s cute, picture this Enemy to Lovers *squeals* got to admit it you guys look good together, so tell me how did it happen?” I looked at her utterly embarrassed

I took my time and explained everything carefully editing the part of my dream, I have already suffered her teasing I couldn’t afford more.

“Mmm After everything you’ve said I have a diagnosis’Lack of communication’ he thinks you don’t like him and will reject him so that’s why he teases you instead, and you think he doesn’t like you and hates you that’s why you cover your heart and now that I’ve told you, you Know now that he likes you right?” I nodded quickly as she looked at me with a bone shivering way, “ Anyways I have a test something you don’t really know how to do..” I thought what don’t I know what to do? And then it hit me

“Dating” Cora said like she was explaining that I have an uncurable disease

“Dating? What” I said cringing

“ it’s not bad just go out there try to get someone if Leo reacts, he likes you and if he doesn’t, he doesn’t like you,” Cora said saying it like rocket science

“I don’t know” I said doubting

“ look I know what happened between you and Jason didn’t end well but that doesn’t mean you should shut yourself up, look at you you’re drop dead gorgeous and that body, is to die for, if I was a boy I would’ve followed you around like a puppy.” Cora said analyzing my waist.

Jason was a football player and an actual player, just one night with a girl and breakup the next day and all for stupid reasons whether they didn’t give him the style he like and had all the girls throwing themselves at him, but I didn’t care, sure he was handsome but to me he was just an entitled jerk. And I think he noticed cause he just ‘accidentally’ met me and he was persistent and then started stalking me, coming to my cafe and sitting with me I don’t how but we started talking and soon dating, I thought I was wrong about him cause he was so sweet, and then a week with intense kisses and so-called love, resuming to school the next day to see him kissing Vicky a cheerleader, so cliche always with the cheerleaders but that’s not what made me hate him, he also said that it was all a bet and he humiliated me, now that broke me. Anyways back to the conversation

“I know but in my eyes Leo is just like Jason, only more handsome” I said thinking of Leo

“ Just try it, if not Leo is your rival I would’ve hit on him by now” Cora said bitting her lips

“You’re so shameless” I said checking the time and throwing a pillow on her head “ sorry Cora but I have to go, mom’s rules, but text you later”

“ Just think about what I said and bye” Cora said and I closed the door, raced downstairs, greeted Cora’s mom and out the door.

I grabbed my bike and on the way home I kept thinking about what Cora said, Does Leo really like me? Or he’s playing some sick games
