Became a slave

The thought of dying surrounded me. I can finally meet my mom. But what is this feeling of tickling on my hand. I immediately opened my eyes. I'm not dead yet. The thing that tickling me was a dog. I pushed it away and checked the surroundings. It was the same old house i've visited last night.

The room was very small and there was dust. I checked myself and found that my wounds are dressed up. Then suddenly I heard a sound nearby. I slowly got up and walked towards that sound. To my surprise, it was the same woman who I've fought with last night. She was cooking something. Then I slowly tried to make a counterattack. But, that woman was very good at self defence.

"Damn, you are so good, woman". - I shouted in pain.

"Who are you? Why did you sneaked into my house last night? You are a thief, am I right?"

- she questioned me.

" You call this a HOME..."

"Of course it's my house but first answer my question.".

" Cool. I'm just searching for food and that's how I've ended up here."

" Is it true?"

" Yes it is. Do you think I'm that dumb to rob this poor house?"

"Okay then. Pay for the damage you've caused and get out of here."

" Sure thing."

Then I gave her money. After checking the money she replied -

" You think I'm stupid? Why are you giving me this pieces of paper?"

" Hey come on. You are looking at the money you can ever see in your life."

" Stop pretending to be dumb and just give me silver coins."

" What? Silver coins? Don't you want this money?"

" Yes. I don't want this paper. Just give me coins and leave."

I thought she was joking at first. But after she explained me about the coins and the way they trade. Finally, I realised that I'm in a different era. In this era, people uses coins like silver and gold instead of dollars. And also there were no buildings but houses made of mud. I think I've travelled back in time. This shocking truth blew my mind.

" You have no coins, no ornaments and no valuable things. Then how can you refund me?" - she asked.

" Hey, don't look down on me."

" Then how do you plan to refund?"

Finally, as I don't have anything valuable, she made a contract with me.

" A slave contract? Who do you think am I? How can you make me a slave?" - I shouted on her.

" I need someone to work with me as my work is very difficult for one person. And also you don't have any qualifications, noone can provide you work. You can pay me back by working with me. I can also provide you food and shelter."

As I have no option. I agreed to be her slave. Not exactly a slave, but as a colleague in work. Her work is nothing but there is a forest nearby. She has to collect the fruits in the middle of forest and sell it in the market. She is also a woodcutter. She cuts the wood and sells it in the market. As the woodcutting job is difficult for her, she needs a helping hand. That's how I accepted her contract. As i entered the forest, I didn't knew that a huge demon is waiting for me in that dark forest..........
