(She looked down, one of her legs was chained. A reddish bruise marked her ankle. She crouched down, wincing as she examined it.

Luca didn’t react; his expression was emotionless, but his eyes betrayed the pain inside. He wanted to make her understand, but she refused to hear a single word.

Luca, though deeply hurt, stayed silent and kept his distance. But one day, Alisha tried to escape. They ended up at the top of the staircase, arguing fiercely. He tried to hold her back and explain himself, but she wasn’t willing to hear a word.

In her struggle, she punched him in the stomach, but he still didn’t let go. She pushed him again harder this time and lost her balance. She fell down the stairs.
