EPISODE 3

CHAPTER 5

One night, while they were jogging, a group of men from the Vultur Gang, who had been hunting Mura for years, suddenly appeared and attacked.

“Mura! We’ve found you!” shouted the gang leader, his eyes filled with murderous intent.

Mura fought back, but he seemed overwhelmed. He fell, groaning in pain.

“Uncle!” cried Ryota.

A fierce battle began. Ryota, though only trained for a year, fought bravely. However, the gang’s numbers and experience almost overpowered him. Three Vultur members ambushed him.

As a deadly sword strike was about to land, Ryota felt the same aura Mura had described, surging from within. His heart, mind, and body seemed to merge with an unknown power.

He went berserk.

A flash of blue lightning struck, his sword now enveloped in energy that tore through the air.

“First Form: Thunder Rush!”

In an instant, three attackers fell, their bodies convulsing. The five remaining Vultur members fled in terror at the rising element.

Suddenly, Mura stood up, completely unharmed, smiling proudly.

“Well done, Ryota!”

Ryota was confused. “Huh? I thought Uncle was knocked out?”

Mura laughed heartily. “Hahaha! No one as strong as me would lose to punks like that. I pretended to faint so you could reveal your element.”

Ryota snorted, seemingly amused by Mura’s joke.

“Ryota, you need to join Ebilityz,” said Mura, his tone serious. “Go home and tell your grandfather.”

After Ryota ran home, Mura smiled in satisfaction and took out a satellite phone to contact Ebilityz.

CHAPTER 6

The open hall of Ebilityz Academy fell silent for a moment after Shira’s shocking announcement about their mission: to defeat the Yin Descendants. The sea breeze blew, carrying with it the promise of danger and purpose.

Shira, calm and serious, continued. “After you complete basic training here, you will be immediately assigned to missions to save people from the threat of Yin Descendants. For this purpose, you will work in teams.”

She took a deep breath. “Each team will consist of two students and one Mentor. Teams are assigned based on ability tests and random compatibility. Listen carefully, because this will be your temporary family.”

In front of eight attentive students, Shira began announcing the list of names, elements, and abilities of each member.

Team 1: Lightning and Shadow

“First Team,” announced Shira. “Consists of: Ryota Arizona – Lightning element. His ability, ‘Upgrade,’ allows him to change the color of his lightning to blue to increase speed and attack power.”

Ryota straightened, feeling a mixture of nervousness and pride.

“His partner is Randy Owen – Shadow element, purple. Randy’s ability lets him control his own shadow to launch attacks.”

Ryota glanced at a pale boy standing at the end of the line. Randy’s shadow seemed darker than usual.

“Mentor of Team 1: Sensei Izumi Haruka – Earth element. Her ability allows her to emerge from any freshly created earth, for example, she can throw a clump of soil and appear where it lands.”

Team 2: Water, Ice, and Bitter Humor

Shira moved to the second group. “Second Team: Gregory Alan – Water element. His ability is ‘Intelligence,’ similar to Uncle Mura—strategic wisdom, predicting movements, and optimal weapon use.”

Ryota nodded at Gregory, relieved to see someone with abilities like Mura’s.

“Next, Gai Shindo – Ice element. His ability requires sacrifice: he can sacrifice one of his eyes to create a red sword that can supposedly defeat anyone struck, including resurrected spirits. This ability is unique to the Shindo lineage.”

As Shira finished, the hall suddenly erupted in laughter.

“Resurrected spirits? Hahaha! Sounds like a horror story!” yelled one student, while others covered their mouths to stifle laughter.

Gai, the cold-eyed boy, only bowed his head slightly, cheeks flushing. Ryota looked at him with sympathy.

“Mentor of Team 2: Sensei Rui Wun – Fire element. Her ability grows stronger the more pain the user experiences.”

Team 3: Yamada Legacy and Questions

“Third Team: Shiyo Yamada – Leaf element. His ability can transform anything into leaves.”

Ryota flinched slightly at the surname. Yamada? That’s Uncle Mura’s family name! Without thinking, he asked, “Ms. Shira, why does his surname match Uncle Mura’s?”

Shira smiled gently at Ryota, then at Shiyo. “Good question, Ryota. Shiyo is Mura’s son.”

Hmmm, so that’s his son, Ryota thought. Now he understood why Mura trained him so seriously—perhaps to ensure Shiyo would have a strong companion at the academy.

“Shiyo’s partner: Sakura Harada – Healing element. But be careful, her ability allows her to convert healing power into Poison.”

“Mentor of Team 3: Sensei Nuzumiku Shindo – Stone element. His ability is similar to Gai’s, because they share the same lineage.”

Team 4: Crystal, Blood, and Teleportation

“Finally, Team Four: Natsumi Kamado – Crystal element. Her ability allows her to spawn Crystal Golems, but she must wait ten minutes if the golem is destroyed.”

“Her partner: Hanabi Sanjo – Blood element. Her ability allows her to use her own or her enemy’s blood to create explosive shots.”

Ryota shivered at the terrifying abilities.

“And Mentor of Team 4: Sensei Ishida Chika – Steel element. Her unique ability: she can throw kunai and teleport to the kunai’s location, followed by sharp stones that trail behind.”

Shira stepped back, letting the students process the newly announced teams. Each team member, with their elements and abilities, was a piece of the puzzle that would determine Ebilityz Academy’s fate.

Ryota’s eyes focused on Randy Owen, his partner. Blue lightning and purple shadow—would this combination be the key to success, or the source of hidden conflict?
