Baby, I Loved You First
Prologue
"As a woman, do not throw yourself into a man because men should always do the first move."
This aphorism was shared by Elysiah's mother and she was enrooted to that belief. It may sounds like old-fashioned but she inculcated in her mind that she must know her self-worth.
If a man likes her then she will let him do the first move that's why she didn't do anything to be noticed by the man she likes. She waited for him to initiate. She waited for him almost two years. She waited for him to do such kind of intimate things but sad to say, he didn't.
She added more patience, expecting that one day, her dream man will look at her the way she looks at him. She never looses hope. She believes in God's perfect timing.
"Imperial, Elysiah Briseis M." Miss Faith Morgan called her from the stage.
She smiles. Those painful memories she had in mind faded slowly as she walks through the carpetted aisle drammatically. It's her graduation day and she's wearing the best outfit of her life, she must be happy. Well, she's really at bliss but, how can you rate her happiness if two different emotions were filling her? You wouldn't know unless you'll put on her shoes.
Despite the struggle inside of her, Elysiah managed to walk down the aisle until she reached her final destination--the stage. There are visitors standing there. They are honorable and well-known species. Their presence add a bit nervousness.
Miss Morgan, their adviser, gave the product of her sleepless nights. Elysiah receives it without hesitation and faces the camera man wearing a complete smile. After how many years, she showed off her sweet and genuine smile again. It's because of the Diploma she was holding.
Miss Morgan called a name again and it's a cue for him to leave the stage. Even if she still wanted to display herself, she doesn't have a choice but to exit.
Everybody's gazing at the stage but Elysiah had a strong feeling that a pair of eyes were watching her while walking.
Thinking about her dream man, her face begun to heat and spark ripped through her body. Maybe, he was really looking at her but who would know?
She didn't want to conclude anything. Just assume--even if reality will hit her hard. She'll take the risk.
Elysiah gathered a strength to search her dream man from the crowd. She's excited to see his handsome and angelic face. Unfortunately, her bestfriend, Prime was the one who waves at her.
Her excitement disappeared but she gave her bestfriend a simple smile and a faint look to the man he likes. Actually, they were in the same circle of friends. He was so close but still a world away.
How ironic.
When Elysiah reached her seat, she sat down silently. Her friends was talking to her but she was staring at her dream man's broad shoulders. She ignored her friends unintentionally.
When is the time he'll notice her?
She really likes him since the time they first met.
They were good back then and she didn't know what exactly happen to them.
Does he hates her?
Or he doesn't have the courage to speak--to confess?
