She attracts magical creatures

The room was still trembling from the chaos that had erupted just minutes ago. A strange mix of magic, cold wind, and fear still hung in the air, making the walls feel tighter, the shadows deeper. The candles flickered violently, as if they too were trying to recover from the sudden bursts of magic.

Eloise lay unconscious on the bed—fragile, still, and breathtakingly peaceful compared to the storm she had unknowingly caused. Her hair was scattered on the pillow like soft golden threads, and the faint blue light that had glowed around her before was now slowly fading away.

Camille stood near the bed with her arms crossed tightly, breathing hard. Her clothes were covered in dust from the struggle outside, and her hair was sticking to her forehead from stress.

Her voice finally broke the thick silence.

“I knew something like this would happen…” Camille said, her voice half-whisper, half-annoyed shock.

Her tone wasn’t anger—it was helplessness. A strange familiar helplessness she carried every time Eloise got dragged into some supernatural mess with no explanation.

Lucien took a long step toward her, his presence filling the room like a cold, sharp wave of strength. His brows narrowed, and his jaw clenched as he tried to make sense of everything.

“What do you think? What just happened to Eloise?”

His words weren’t impatient—but the heaviness in his chest echoed through them. He had seen many things in his life, but never a human girl knocking magical beasts off balance without even lifting a finger.

Camille exhaled shakily.

“I’ll tell you… just—wait—let me breathe,” Camille said, placing a hand on her chest. Her shoulders trembled slightly. “I’m a bit shocked right now.”

Lucien watched her closely, worry flickering in his eyes even though he tried to hide it.

“Okay,” Lucien replied calmly, though his voice carried clear tension.

He glanced toward Eloise, and for a moment, his expression softened—completely different from the cold commanding prince everyone knew.

Eloise was still lying unconscious on the bed, her chest rising and falling softly, her fingers slightly curled as if she was dreaming peacefully. The contrast between her innocence and the chaos she caused was unsettling.

Camille finally spoke again, her voice steadier now, her expression turning serious.

“So… simply, the truth is—Eloise attracts magical creatures towards her. Sometimes only when she is not in her conscious mode. Like… just now.”

Lucien’s eyes snapped toward Camille, disbelief flashing across his face.

“But why? Isn’t she a normal human?”

“Yeah, she is,” Camille said softly. “And I don’t know why this is happening.” Her tone carried real worry.

Lucien watched her closely, the weight of her words sinking deeper inside him.

Camille continued, pulling up a memory she clearly didn’t want to revisit.

“Once we went to a forest for something. I was with Eloise. We collected some herbs and then we sat down for a bit… and we accidentally fell asleep.”

Lucien could imagine it—two girls sleeping peacefully under the forest’s shade, completely unaware that the world around them was shifting.

“When I opened my eyes,” Camille whispered, “Eloise was surrounded by magical creatures.”

Lucien’s fingers curled at his sides.

“And they weren’t angry… or happy to see her. They were fighting for Eloise—who would take her with them.”

The room felt colder suddenly.

Camille swallowed.

“And at that time I saw it—the blue spark in their eyes when they looked at her…”

Lucien froze. That same spark he had seen today. A spark that belonged to creatures claiming something sacred.

Camille looked at Lucien seriously, as if she knew her next words would change everything.

“After finding out more… I realized Eloise isn’t a normal town girl. She is connected to the royal palace.”

Lucien’s eyes widened but his body went completely still, like a statue carved from shadow and winter.

He said nothing. He was lost in his thoughts. The room filled with a heavy silence.

The ticking of a clock, the soft wind brushing the window curtains, Eloise’s faint breathing—everything felt louder than usual.

After a moment, Lucien finally spoke.

“So… she can attract me too?”

His voice was almost too quiet, but Camille heard the vulnerability in it.

Camille shrugged slightly. “Yeah. You’re a creature too… so yes.”

There was no teasing now. Only truth.

She leaned forward and hugged the unconscious Eloise protectively, brushing the girl’s hair back gently.

“Well, I’m serious, Lucien. I’m attracted toward her too. Look at me.”

Lucien let out a small exhale he didn’t realize he had been holding. He wasn’t sure whether it was disbelief, frustration… or something else blooming in his chest that he wasn’t ready to admit.

Camille pulled back slightly, still watching Eloise with affection and fear mingled in her eyes.

“If all the creatures start fighting for her… what will we do?” Camille asked, worried.

Lucien straightened up, a firm determination settling around him like armor.

“Okay. I’ll take care of the rest,” Lucien said firmly, decision settling in his voice.

Camille nodded slowly, relief mixing with hope.

“Okay, thanks, Lucien. I’ll try to find out who Eloise really is and if everything is alright with her,” Camille said as she stood up.

She walked to the door, paused, then turned back at him with a teasing glare that lightened the tension in the room.

“Don’t do anything weird with her. I won’t spare you. She is my girl, okay, Lucien?”

I don't know, what if I did something she is beautiful to resist.

he said as he rolled his eyes, but a faint smirk tugged at his lips.

we'll take the responsibility then Camille said back and left the room.

The door clicked shut behind her.

Silence fell again—deep, calm, and strangely intimate.

Lucien slowly sat down on the chair beside the bed, elbows on his knees, staring at Eloise as if trying to read the tiny universe she held inside her.

“Is this fate…?” he whispered to himself.

A soft breeze drifted in through the window, brushing her hair gently as if the wind itself adored her.

He leaned forward, observing the peaceful look on her face—the slight curve of her lips, the soft flutter of her eyelashes.

“She’s gorgeous… When I look at her, I feel something inside me… something I never felt before for anyone.”

Slowly, almost unconsciously, he touched his lips… remembering the strange warmth he had felt earlier.

A small smile spread across his face—quiet, confused, and undeniably drawn toward her.

And for the first time in years, the prince who feared no creature… feared his own heart.
