New beginning

Jule's POV:

After an hour’s drive, we arrived at a vast mansion. The driver stepped out first and opened the door for me. I got out of the car, my gaze instantly drawn to the long line of servants standing in perfect formation on either side of the entrance, their heads slightly bowed as if awaiting royalty. The sheer grandeur of the place made my chest tighten with unease. Just who was this man that so many people waited for him in silence? Is he a royalty like me?

"You will be living here from now on." Adrian said

*The moment I stepped inside, warmth and quiet luxury enveloped me. The entrance hall stretched wide and tall, its marble floor polished to a mirror-like shine, reflecting the soft glow of an enormous crystal chandelier suspended from the domed ceiling. The walls were lined with deep mahogany panels, intricately carved with patterns that spoke of old wealth and careful preservation.

A grand staircase curved upward on both sides, its banister cold beneath my fingers, wrought from dark iron and crowned with gold detailing. Thick velvet curtains framed the tall arched windows, allowing narrow beams of afternoon light to spill across antique rugs woven with delicate, fading patterns.

The air carried a faint scent of polished wood and aged books, as though countless stories had been whispered within these walls. Portraits of stern-faced men and elegant women watched from gilded frames, their eyes following my every step. Each piece of furniture looked expensive yet untouched, arranged with precision rather than comfort.

Despite the beauty surrounding me, an unsettling silence lingered—one that made me feel small

We stopped in front of a room." This is your room." Adrian said. I looked at the dark wood color door. He opened the door.

The room was vast. The size was same as my previous bedroom. The walls were painted a deep, muted green, the color rich and calming, yet heavy with quiet authority. Soft golden accents traced the corners of the ceiling, where recessed lights cast a warm, steady glow.

Near one side of the room stood a state-of-the-art gaming setup: a wide desk of dark wood supporting multiple sleek monitors. A high-backed leather chair sat before it, slightly turned as if its owner had just stepped away. Consoles, controllers, and neatly arranged headphones, a modern contrast to the otherwise grand surroundings.

At the center of the room rested a massive bed, its carved wooden frame imposing yet refined. The bed was dressed in deep green and charcoal sheets, layered with plush pillows that looked more decorative than inviting. A thick rug spread beneath it, softening each step and anchoring the space in quiet luxury.

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors opened to a spacious terrace, concealed only by sheer curtains that swayed gently with the breeze. Beyond them, the terrace stretched wide, furnished with dark metal seating and stone tiles, overlooking the estate below. Moonlight spilled freely into the room, blending with the green walls and casting long, elegant shadows—making the entire space feel like a private kingdom suspended above the world.

“This used to be my nephew’s room. He moved to Italy,” Adrian said. “You can have it.”

“You live alone?” I asked. There were so many questions clawing at my mind, but I swallowed them all.

“Yes. Wash up and come down for dinner. It’ll be ready in an hour. Is there anything you don’t like to eat?”

“No, I’m fine with anything—except beans. I can’t even force myself to eat them. I hate them.”

“…Alright,” Adrian said.

The door clicked shut behind him, and I let out a long breath, my body finally giving in. I slumped onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. Just thinking about everything that had happened today made my limbs ache and tighten. After crying until my chest felt hollow, I dragged myself up and headed for the shower, hoping the hot water might wash some of the weight away.

Adrian's POV:

His mother used to also hate beans. "Oh Sero why did you have to end up like that?" I sighed
