Chapter 1 : A Free Bird

What was my worth? What was I? Who accepted me and who understood me? 23 years, out of which 18 years passed happily, and in 5 years I saw selfish friends and greedy relatives. I saw those people going who said they would never go. I was very stressed, defeated by life, and unemployed. I did not want to get married, and there was nothing for which I could earn money. I had only one wish: that I should travel to every corner of India, with just my feet and 20000 rupees. So on 1 January 2026 I left home. Actually, I had to do this work on 28th August, because that day is my birthday, but then I did not have money, so I thought of doing it on New Year's Day.I was waiting for everyone to sleep at night. I was scared too, not because I was going away from home without informing anyone. But I was scared also because drug addicts used to loot people at night. So while trying to gather some courage, I thought, "Why not watch an action thriller movie to gather courage?" so I chose the John Wick movie. After the movie ended, I felt excited. I could handle 10 men alone, although it was not possible, because my weight was 50 kilos and I was a skinny fellow. Still, all the fear went away from my mind, and I wrote a letter for them so that my family members would know that I had not kidnapped them but was just leaving the house. It was 1 o'clock in the night, and I came out of my room and secretly jumped over the bathroom. There is one advantage of being thin and light in weight: no one can catch you, and you can easily climb the walls also. So I climbed that wall and ran away from my home, even though I was afraid of the dark and thieves, but somehow I kept walking. I was talking 10 steps forward and then 5 steps back. I wasn't sure if I should go or not, but I did the same for about 1 hour, and I was far away from my home. How did I know that thing? It's because when I looked back, there was no house. No lights means I was on the road, which leads to Himachal, and I knew that if I walked for 3-4 hours continuously, then I would cross the border of Himachal Pradesh.As the sun was rising and the darkness was fading, I was feeling safer. All night I heard voices of animals, and I don't know, maybe spirits. There's a saying that there are spirits in every forest. Anyways, I kept walking, and after 2 hours, I finally crossed the border. There were monkeys, and I saw a mama monkey with her cute little baby, so adorable.
