Chapter 4: Xander Heil

He was infront of the elevator door but moved aside that is when I realized that I had spilled my coffee on him, i quickly started searching for my handkerchief in my bag. For a moment I started panicking because I thought that he was going to hit me, If I did that to Victor he was no doubt going to. My trembling hands started tapping the piece of clothe on the dark spot of his light blue chemise a miserable attempt to wipe it, as i couldn't stop whispering "Sorry" if he was Victor's rival maybe he was just like him and i am about to get in big trouble.

He suddenly held my hand and I hissed at the pain removing it quickly from his hold while I stepped backwards

“I am sorry” He quickly said in his deep cello like voice which sounded like honey in my ears “Are you hurt?” He ask concern on his face

“No, I am not. But you are, I just poured hot coffee on you it must hurt, again I am sorry sir. Is there something I can do to help?” I started blabbering but he kept piercing me with his gaze while I spoke, it was strange, why was he looking at me like this?.

“Not really, it is okay I promise” he said genuinely before looking at his watch for time I wanted to say something else but he started first by saying

“You came in 8 minutes late, but now you are already 14 minutes late. So you walk up to the end of this corridor and you will find the Office for SunX wait for me there I will be going to change.” He said entering the elevator behind us “And also I will only need Madame Lenois for this meeting” He said before it closed itself that means my assistant will have to leave.

Wait what!? Does that means that, that man i saw on her laptop, i forgot his name, isn't the director? Well I don't understand anything but whatever as long as I get to collaborate with the brand I am okay. Even though I know that I will be in trouble the moment Victor learns that I was in contact with him, he has always forbidded me to talk or be in the same room as him, he has been referring to Xander as a demon and a fraud saying how Xander have stolen all his prizes and have been paying for all his nominations. He has always hated him because he has always been the second and Xander first in everything he attempted. I always wondered if they were childhood friends or something.

“Um, I will be leaving and waiting for you in the car Madame” My assistant said excusing herself and I nodded trying to calm down because I could feel the stress growing in me, a maid was already present mopping the floor where coffee spilled, I gave her the remaining coffee so that she could throw it away. I walked straight as he told me and saw a long glass door, I guess this was it so I pushed inside.

I really loved the designs in here, everything was well furnished and looked beautiful despite being minimal, there were a few paints on the walls. The desk was well organized everything on his place and in order. There was a little section for books but I didn't dare to go and look at them. I instead sat opposite to the director’s chair and waited while taking in my surrounding. I only hoped that he won't make me wait too long

After about 2 minutes I heard the door push open and he emerge in. I couldn't move my eyes away from him, I don't know what it was that was so enticing and mysterious about him but there was something that just made anyone attracted to him. His odour, I loved it, he smelled like freshness and the shirt he just wore, it wasn't a compression shirt but it was firmly standing on his body showing off his biceps and aligning his abs without any effort, I was salivating, literally, I wanted to know how it will feel like-

“Lara Lenois” He called my name, which made me break out of my trance and I looked up to meet his eyes, those piercing dark blue eyes that seem to undress me every time they fall on me was suffocating. He was sat straight on his char looking at me, that is when I remembered what I came here for

“O-oh, right! I am sorry f-for dozing off…Um, yeah. I actually wasn't aware that you were the director, I am kind of intrigued there wasn't your name on the report my assistant showed me” I was blabbering, it was embarrassing because my focus stopped being on work the moment he entered and I could feel my ears turn red. I tried to look straight at him but i couldn't my eyes kept wandering away, looking at everything but his eyes while his gaze was straight at me with an emotionless expression, it made me feel stupid.

“You are in X. This is X company I am sure you have already heard of that, not that I am bragging” He stated and yes I knew he had two companies X and H. Weird names.

“Inside X there are many other small companies like SunX I can't manage all of them so I assign directors who shall manage them in my place but I am the head of everything” He was actually a genius in the milieu of entrepreneurship always getting the noble prizes of the best selling brand of the year and most popular brand of the year. Every single year since he was 21 and not once has Victor won.

“That is really cool so there are a lot of mini companies inside this huge building” I said nodding to myself, well he was literally in the top 2 richest men in this field despite being only 28. A freaking billionaire

“Do you have any ideas on how you want the collaboration to be?” He asked, I am sure he had a lot of things to do, he was a busy man after all and I was wasting his time.

“Yes! Yes, actually I even wrote it” I said cursing myself for screaming but when I looked up I saw a ghost of a smile on his face and it made me turn redder was he mocking me?

“Um my brand Lara Beauty has just release its sunscreen product and I thought that we could make an Ad on a beach combining my sunscreen and your sunglasses, also make pictures to publish on social media... What do you think?” I asked, one thing i learned was that we didn't have to do much as we were celebrities attention will always be on us so only that will suffice.

“It is not bad” he said simply reading the documents I handed to him “We could do that” He said keeping the documents next to him “Could I keep it please? I can't really go through them right now?”

“Yes yes keep it. It doesn't disturb me” I said and he nodded, I didn't know it was this easy, I thought it was going to be a lot of protocols but we didn't even do 5 minutes or was I the problem? Maybe he just wanted to get rid of me faster.

“When should we start?, I could contact a professional who shall help us direct and produce the Ad. We will also need models and a place to shoot, I will look for everything if you want to” He said and I was shocked, he was financing everything? What a gentleman. Or maybe he just wanted a greater share.

“Why will you help with everything? Does that mean you will gain more?”

“Normally if somebody finances alone they should have a greater share but I am willing to make it a 50% each or even less on my share. My brand is popular enough and has already made the greatest income among the new ones out there, so you can see this as an opportunity I am giving you to shine” I was so touched that I didn't have the words, why was he so kind with me?. If only my own husband could help me out like this, but he didn't care at all. For him everything was about competition he would hate for me to have a brand more successful than his.

“Thank you so much sir. I don't know why you are doing this, especially after I spilled coffee on you but I will be forever grateful to you I promise” I said.

“You don't have to do anything. I just want to help you and I hope I won't cause you any problems with your husband I am aware of his hate towards me and I am sure he wouldn't be happy if he learned about this collaboration. If doing this will put you at risk then we shouldn't-

“No! I want to do it, I want to collaborate with you. I don't care about his... reaction” I said frowning even though I was scared that he will hurt me again. He stretch his hand forward to place it on mine, but before he could touch me he retracted it again. Contemplating on what he could do or say.

“I am sorry” He said putting the documents in his drawer ”If you need help with anything feel free to contact me, whether it is at work or ...at home. Try taking care of yourself and eat well” He said sliding his business card towards me before looking at me, especially my neck and leaving.
