Recovery changed everything and nothing.

The mansion felt smaller now, heavier with things Alessia and Matteo refused to name. They were no longer enemies, but they weren’t lovers either. Every shared glance lingered too long. Every silence throbbed with restraint, and restraint was becoming unbearable.

Alessia and Matteo went back home, but then we almost crashed on another SUV car, Alessia squints her eyes on the car plate number

Alessia: "Isn't that... The Leon heir car?"

Matteo: " Fuck... It is. Stay calm darling."

Matteo pulled out his g*n and angled it on the window she looked out the window

Alessia: "Duck!"

Both Alessia and Matteo duck the g*n shoot

Alessia: "Are you alright?... "

Matteo accidentally got hit on the shoulder as he grunted in pain I drove the car fast to the mansion as I helped him, I took him upstairs as I set him down on the bed

Alessia: "Just stay put... I'm gonna get the aid kit."

Alessia was softly pressing cotton on the wound as Matteo grunt..

Alessia: "Stay still!"

Matteo stayed still, knowing it's for the best.

The tension finally snapped the night Matteo was nearly killed again. Alessia stayed by his bed, shaking, fury and fear choking her.

Alessia woke up earlier than she expected, she couldn't pretend anymore. She softly kissed Matteo on the forehead before sitting up to get ready. Alessia went downstairs to ask the chief to make some breakfast.

Chief: "Mrs. Moretti. Black coffee as always for Mr. Moretti?

Alessia: “Yes, make sure it's not too bitter and sweet"

The chief nod and proceeded to make the breakfast and coffee, Matteo just woke up kissing her neck as he held onto her waist possessively.

Matteo: "Good morning Hun~ I feel much better that you took care of my wound~"

Alessia: "Matteo, You should rest."

Matteo: "Hhm. No"

Alessia: "You should get ready for work Matteo."

Matteo: "But I want my morning kiss."

Alessia: "Agh... You're so hard to deal with."

Alessia gave Matteo a peck on the lips as Matteo deepened the kiss.
