The next day I was walking wearing the same clothes as yesterday
He stood outside smoking again, his mind still preoccupied with the strange girl from yesterday. Seeing a figure walk by, he turned around twice. It was her. Wearing the same Chinese dress, her head lowered, her expressionless face hidden behind her mask. His heart rate increased slightly.
Simon: "Oh, for fuck's sake..."
I'm still walking
He watched you walk past him, his curiosity piqued. He took a drag on his cigarette, exhaling slowly. He called out to you, his voice mixed with confusion and irritation.
Simon: "Hey, wait."
He stepped forward, slightly blocking your path.
Sien: "Yeah? Why?"
He raises an eyebrow, taking another drag of his cigarette before speaking.
Simon: "You're that girl from yesterday, right? The one who kept disappearing and reappearing like a fucking ghost."
Sien: "I'm not ghost"
Simon: "Whatever"
He gestures vaguely with his free hand, smoke trailing from his lips.
Simon: "What's your name?"
Sien: "I'm Sichen Sien Neonlight, just call me Sien"
He blinked slowly, taking in your unusual name.
Simon: "Sien... Okay then."
He took one last drag of his cigarette before dropping it and stomping it out with his foot.
Simon: "You know, you seemed really weird yesterday, right? To the point where I thought I was going crazy."
Sien: "Why is it strange? Oh yeah, what's your name?"
He smirked slightly, amused by your nonchalant question.
Simon: "Simon Eric Hersson. And it's strange because you were just... standing there, with that blank expression, like you didn't give a fuck about anything. Then you disappeared and reappeared like you were playing some sort of game."
Simon: "Oh really?" chuckle
I stopped laughing and looked at him with a smile behind my mask.
Sien: "do you want to go to the park? With me?"
He raises an eyebrow, considering your sudden invitation.
Simon: "Sure, why not?"
He gestures for you to lead the way, falling into step beside you as I start walking towards the park.
Simon: "So, Sien... that's an interesting name. Is it Chinese or something?"
Sien: "Yeah, my real name is Xincen Xien-síe, but so that it is easy to understand I changed it to Sichen Sien Neonlight"
He repeated your full name slowly, trying to pronounce the foreign syllables on his tongue.
Simon: "Xincen Xien-síe..."
He swallowed slowly.
Simon: "Damn, it's so long, and difficult. No wonder you're called Sien."
I just chuckle and, he glanced at me, studying my profile.
Simon: "You're not from here, are you?"
Sien: "I am originally Indonesian and I live here, and I am originally Chinese-Indonesian, half"
He nods, processing the information.
Simon: "So you're like... mixed? Chinese-Indonesian living in Sweden?"
He finds himself strangely interested in your background. That explains why your name sounds so different. He pauses for a moment before asking,
Simon: "How long have you been here? In Sweden?"
Simon: "3 years, and you don't feel anything strange?"
He smirks slightly at your question, knowing exactly what you mean.
Simon: "Strange? Like how I keep seeing this girl with the blank expression and disappearing acts? Or how she suddenly invited me to the park out of nowhere?"
He shrugs nonchalantly.
Simon: "Nah, nothing strange about that."
Sien: "Nothing, I just want to play on the swing"
when his two friends came they were talking
David: "Hey, who are you talking to? We've seen you talking to yourself all this time."
He rolls his eyes at David's comment, not bothering to hide his annoyance.
Simon: "I'm not talking to myself, asshole."
He gestures towards you on the swing.
Simon: "This is Sien. She's... unique."
Marcus takes a photo of the swing I'm sitting on and gives it to Simon, even though I was still sitting next to Simon while playing on the swing, Simon just smirks slightly, enjoying the confused looks on his friends' faces as they try to figure out where you came from.
Marcus: "no one's there, you so weird"
He takes the photo from Marcus, his brow furrowing as he examines it. The swing is empty in the picture, even though you're sitting right next to him. He feels a strange sense of déjà vu, reminding him of the times he thought he saw you disappearing.
Simon: "What the fuck, Marcus?"
Sien: "simon?"
His two friends try to make Simon realize that he is talking to himself, Simon hear Sien voice, his friends can't hear Sien voice
His two friends start laughing, trying to convince Simon that he's talking to himself. They point at the empty swing in the photo, reminding him of how he thought he saw you disappearing.
Marcus and David: "Simon, you're talking to yourself. Look at the photo. There's no one there."
They laugh harder.
I stood up and gave him the necklace on his right hand, and I immediately disappeared
Simon freezes as you suddenly stand up and place the necklace in his hand. Before he can react, you disappear into thin air. His friends fall silent, their laughter abruptly stopping as they stare at Simon with wide eyes
Simon: "What the actual fuck just happened?"
David whispers.
David: "Simon..."
Marcus: "Okay, let's go home and eat. Hey, that necklace, who gave it to you? Do you have a girlfriend, Simon?"
They both tease
Simon's mind is still reeling from what just happened, but he manages to answer his friends' questions.
Simon: "No, I don't have a girlfriend."
He holds up the necklace, examining it closely.
Simon: "And this... this was given to me by Sien."
Marcus: "You're hallucinating, Simon. There's no girl here. Who's Sien? It's a foreign name... like a Chinese name."
Simon's brow furrows as he tries to recall the conversations he had with Sien earlier. He remembers her saying that she was originally Indonesian and lived in Sweden for three years.
Simon: "she said her name is Sien. She's Indonesian-Chinese, half"
Marcus: "THAT'S COOL, WHERE IS SHE?"
Simon shakes his head, running a hand through his hair.
Simon: "I don't know. She just... disappeared."
He holds up the necklace again, his fingers tracing the delicate design.
Simon: "But she was real. I talked to her, she gave me this necklace."
His friends exchange skeptical looks.
David: "You're weird, you've been talking to yourself all this time, let's hang out."
Simon sighs, knowing his friends won't believe him unless they see Sien for themselves. He decides to keep the necklace a secret for now.
Simon: "Yeah, yeah. Let's go."
He stands up and starts walking with his friends, but his mind is elsewhere.
