It was the day of the wedding. Wang Yi Xuan sat alone in his room, meditating, trying to block out the chaos of his thoughts. He hated this situation and didn’t want to go out.

A knock on the door broke his concentration. He groaned but tried to continue meditating, taking deep breaths. The knock came again—persistent.

“Ugh..” Annoyed, he opened his eyes and stood up. Opening the door, he found Yi Fan standing there.

Yi Xuan’s first instinct was anger, but seeing Yi zhen , he tried to control himself. Still, his tone betrayed his frustration. “What do you want? I’m meditating.”

Yi zhen looked confused. “Meditating? Right now? On our parents’ wedding?”

“Our? Our parents? I don’t even need that kind of parents anymore… You can take both of them as your parents,” Yi Xuan thought bitterly.

“Hey?” Yi zhen called again, pulling him out of his thoughts.

“Huh?”Yi Xuan finally looked up.

“Come out. Dad’s looking for you,” Yi zhen said, then walked away.

Reluctantly, Yi Xuan followed. He sat through the wedding quietly, watching everything happen.

Later, he drunk from too much drinking, he slumped, barely able to stay upright.

His father approached. “Why have you drunk so much?”

“I’m happy. Happy for you,” Yi Xuan mumbled, bowing clumsily.

His father called Yi zhen over. “Take care of him. He can’t even go to his room.”

Yi zhen nodded. After his father left, Wang Yi Xuan began mumbling to himself, voice thick and slurred from the alcohol:

“Oh.. look at my new brother. I never needed a brother. I don’t need a father. I just wanted my mom… Mom… why did you leave me here, in this hell… with these people? Aren’t we different from them…? Mom… Mom…”

Yi zhen watched silently, listening to every word. He could feel the raw pain behind Wang Yi Xuan’s voice, but he shrugged it off, thinking, He’s just talking nonsense because he’s drunk… probably doesn’t even mean half of it.

Still, he stepped forward carefully, gently trying to lift Wang Yi Xuan. Helping him walk to his room, Yizhen opened the door and guided him toward the bed.

But Yi Xuan, exhausted, suddenly leaned fully onto Yi Fan. They lost balance, and both fell onto the bed—Yi zhen on top of Wang Yi Xuan.

“Ugh… are you okay?” Yi zhen asked softly. No response.

“Hey?” He touched Wang Yi Xuan’s cheek.

“Hah… he fell asleep?” Yi zhen thought, surprised. In that quiet moment, he finally looked at Wang Yi Xuan’s face—calm, serene, completely different from the usual frustration or anger he always showed.

How can someone.. be this beautiful…? Yi zhen thought silently, unable to look away.
