DESTINED IN THE STORM

DESTINED IN THE STORM

Sami's Awakening/ Blood Contract/Shadows and Loyalty

Sami stood before the full-length mirror for the tenth time that hour, meticulously adjusting the collar of his pale blue shirt. Today wasn't just any day; the calendar on his nightstand finally marked his eighteenth birthday. For the first time in his life, the suffocating weight of his father’s constant surveillance seemed to have lightened, replaced by a golden ticket to freedom: a night out, a true celebration of his adulthood.

"Sami! Move it! The taxi’s going to leave without us!" a shout from downstairs startled him, followed by a burst of infectious, rowdy laughter.

Sami smiled, a flutter of pure, unadulterated happiness dancing in his stomach. His friends were waiting for him with that vibrant, noisy energy he loved so much. With them, he felt safe—it was a relaxed environment, almost like a "girls' night" where secrets were shared and laughter flowed without the harsh judgment of the Alpha-centric world outside. They were his sanctuary, his chosen family.

He took one last look at himself. His skin looked luminous, and his eyes held a spark of hope he hadn't seen in years.

"I'm coming, Leo! Just one more second!" Sami yelled back, grabbing his wallet and a light jacket.

As he ran down the stairs, he bumped into Leo, his best friend, who was already waiting at the bottom step with a mischievous grin.

"Wow, look at you! Someone's trying to be the center of attention tonight," Leo teased, nudging him playfully. "Are you ready for the best night of your life? I heard L'Étoile is packed tonight. It’s going to be legendary."

"I just want to dance, Leo," Sami admitted, his voice soft but excited. "I want to forget about my father, forget about the 'breeding' classes, and just... be me. For one night, I don't want to be an Omega. I just want to be Sami."

"And you will be," Leo promised, throwing an arm over his shoulder. "Tonight, the world belongs to us. No Alphas breathing down our necks, no rules. Just music and freedom."

Sami laughed, feeling a rush of adrenaline. He didn't notice his father, Filomeno, watching him from the shadows of the study, a cold, calculating look in his eyes. To Sami, this was a beginning; to Filomeno, it was the final countdown to a transaction.

"Let's go then!" Sami cried out, pushing the heavy front door open and stepping out into the cool evening air.

He breathed in deeply, feeling the city's pulse in the distance. He felt invincible, unaware that the stars he was looking at were already shifting, weaving a destiny of sandalwood and storm that would claim him before the sun rose again.

The Blood Contract

Filomeno watched Sami descend the stairs. He didn't see his son's smile, nor the spark of hope in those eighteen-year-old eyes; what he saw were numbers, figures, and the promise of a brimming bank account. There was no fatherly pride in his chest, only the cold satisfaction of a breeder finally seeing his finest specimen mature.

«Look at him,» he thought as he bid farewell with a mechanical gesture, «so happy, unaware that every year of his upbringing has been an investment I start collecting today.»

For Filomeno, Sami wasn't a son; he was the bridge to the benefits he had awaited for nearly two decades. The goal had always been this: the perfect marriage, the final transaction.

That same morning, in the top floor of a glass skyscraper, the seeds of this plan had been sown. Filomeno had sat before Kael, a 27-year-old Alpha whose presence commanded absolute silence in the room. Kael was the living portrait of success: owner of his own empire, forged under the strict and ambitious gaze of his mother—a powerful businesswoman and an old "friend" of Filomeno.

 Shadows and Loyalty

The moment Filomeno left the building, Kael’s mask of coldness shattered completely. He sprang to his feet, pacing back and forth with an anxiety he would never show in a boardroom. Caleb, his head of security and lifelong friend, locked the door and watched him calmly. Only the two of them knew the true nature of the contract resting on the table. It wasn't a purchase; it was a rescue.

"Tell me the reports are correct, Caleb," Kael said, his voice heavy with urgency. "Tell me that man hasn't hurt him yet."

"Sami is physically fine, Kael. Filomeno has kept him like a 'jewel' only to increase his value, but he has no idea you’re pulling the strings to get him out of there. To him, you’re just an ambitious businessman. Your secret is safe with me."

Kael sighed, leaning his hands on the desk. He had been planning this for months, using his mother’s company as a front to get close to Filomeno and buy Sami’s freedom without anyone suspecting his true intentions. He had to be near him, to protect him, but Sami couldn't know yet.
