Story Summary

Shen Yu, a thirty-year-old who died from overwork without ever enjoying the food he loved, awakens in a new body Gu Yanzhi, a male ger capable of bearing children and the most despised Male Empress of the Great Liang Dynasty. This is the same Empress who once used his five-year-old child to gain the attention of a cold, distant Emperor who despised him and even after Gu Yanzhi’s death, the Emperor never spared him a glance.

Yet Shen Yu awakens with no memory of Gu Yanzhi’s past sins, schemes, or desperation. All he knows is the cold palace, an indifferent Emperor, and a quiet child who clings to him in silence.

“Mother I want another one please!” Gu Xiao’an exclaimed, bouncing slightly in his lap. “Of course,” Shen Yu replied, lifting him a little higher. “You always get what you want.”

From the marble steps, Xiao Liancheng stood silently, arms crossed, his presence commanding and cold. Gu Yanzhi, however, didn’t even glance at him. It was as if the Emperor wasn’t there at all, his attention fully on the little bun.

Xiao Liancheng’s eyes narrowed slightly, a flicker of something unspoken crossing his face. The Empress had completely ignored him not out of malice, but out of ease, comfort, and a focus only on what he cared about. That tiny disregard stung more than any insult.

Shen Yu’s smile never wavered, and his hands continued to smooth crumbs from Xiao’an’s robes, utterly unbothered by the towering figure behind him.

Will Shen Yu also change his heart and look at the Emperor, appearing everywhere he goes, and become shameless, seeking attention or just completely ignore him now?
