Three young men strode in quickly, their presence shifting the air in the room.
The moment Sohee spotted them, she smacked her forehead in frustration. Yoongi stiffened and immediately pulled out his phone, whispering urgently for someone to come quickly.
One of the guy—his expression dark—headed straight for Sohee.
"Min-sun oppa!" she burst out, exasperated. "I already told you I was coming here, Then why did you follow me again?"
"You told me, yes," Min-sun said sharply, his eyes darting toward Jungkook. "But did you tell me he would be here too?"
Sohee groaned. "He came with his boyfriend. And anyway, is this our house or something? Just because I'm here doesn't mean no one else can come! Always tailing me like this—don't you think you're ruining my privacy?"
"Appa gave me strict orders to watch you,"
Min-sun shot back. "Even if you're careful, the people around you aren't exactly trustworthy."
"Fine, then what?" Sohee snapped. "Should I leave? Or do you plan on standing guard over me like some bodyguard?"
"Alright, alright, I'll leave..." Minsun said, but as he turned, his eyes landed on Tae.
A crooked smile tugged at his lips. "Tae," he called.
Immediately, Tae stood up nervously and walked over. Yoongi's glare hardened, but Jungkook, without lifting his eyes, stayed focused on the waiter.
"It's been three days since I gave you my notes to copy. Why isn't it done yet?" Minsun asked, his tone sharp, though his gaze flicked deliberately toward Jungkook as if to provoke him.
"I already finished," Tae replied quickly. "But the notebooks ran out. I told Sohee we needed more. Didn't she tell you?"
Sohee had told him. But Minsun only smirked, pretending otherwise.
"She didn't mention it. But fine—if you come with me now, I'll buy you the notebooks myself."
"Right now? I'm already here. If you just give me the money, I'll get the books, bring back the bill, and return the change..." Tae said, voice tinged with unease.
Before Minsun could reply, his friend Jiho cut in with a mocking grin.
"Why bother, Minsun? If you give us the money, we'll take Tae along, buy the books, and bring him back."
Jinhyuk, another friend, added, "Yeah. Faster that way. Come with us, Tae."
Tae shook his head, clearly uncomfortable. "No need. You can just buy them yourselves and give them to me tomorrow. I'll copy everything then."
Before the tension could thicken, Yoongi suddenly leaned back in his chair and called out toward the entrance.
"Sohyun! Over here—come, come!"
Minsun's head whipped around instantly.
A girl had just stepped inside—her curly hair bouncing, her long midi skirt paired with a short top. She smiled brightly as she walked in.
Jungkook's eyes darkened. He rounded on Yoongi.
"Hey! Sohyun texted me after class that she was going straight dorm. Then why is she here now? Did you call her?" His voice was sharp with anger.
Yoongi folded his arms, his tone low. "I knew it. The moment Minsun shows up, he'll pull something—calling Tae, dragging him out, just to mess with you. The only way to deal with him is to fight fire with fire."
Jungkook's jaw tightened. "So Minsun calls for Tae, and you counter by calling Sohyun? What's the difference between us and him, then?"
Yoongi's eyes flashed. "Maybe it doesn't bother you... but every time he calls out Tae's name just to provoke you, it makes my blood boil."
Before Jungkook could reply, Minsun cut in, his voice sharp.
"I'll buy the books and send them through Sohee. That's enough. Now go."
As Tae was about to return to his seat, Sohee—chatting animatedly with her friends while eating ice cream—accidentally brushed against her friend's bag, sending it tumbling to the floor.
Tae, just about to sit beside Jungkook, noticed at once. Without a second thought, he rushed over, bent down, picked up the bag, and politely handed it back.
From a distance, Minsun sat with his group of friends, but his eyes were fixed sharply on Sohyun.
Jimin leaned toward Dahyun and whispered, puzzled, "What's even going on?
Why did Tae get up the moment that guy called him?
And then he's talking to Sohee... now he's picking up her bag? Something's not adding up."
The ice creams arrived then, pulling everyone's attention for a moment. But Jimin, still restless, turned toward Yoongi and asked firmly, "Tell me straight—what exactly is happening here?"
Just as Sohyun was about to sit next to Jimin, Yoongi quickly stood and said, "No, sit here, Sohyun." He motioned to the spot beside Jungkook, casting a pointed glare at Minsun before sliding over to sit next to Jimin himself.
The second Sohyun sat down beside Jungkook, Minsun's expression darkened—his eyes burned with barely contained rage.
Yoongi leaned closer to Jimin and said quietly, "Listen carefully, because this isn't simple.
Minsun's father and Jungkook's father... they're business rivals. They can't stand each other.
Sohyun is in her second year of Computer Applications. The moment Minsun laid eyes on her, he started following her around, trying to win her over—but she never agreed.
Later, it came out that Sohyun is the daughter of Jeon Nari madam's close friend. Nari, as you know, is Jungkook's mother. Once Minsun realized that, things only got worse.
We made sure he never got close to Sohyun, and because of that, he's been holding a grudge. Out of spite, he targets Jungkook whenever he can. That's why he always calls out Tae—dragging him into things just to humiliate Jungkook.
And me? I always call Sohyun whenever Minsun shows up.
Because he's obsessed with her. If she's here, he won't leave—he'll just sit there, watching. He's terrified that if he looks away, Jungkook and Sohyun might grow closer."
Jimin frowned, processing every word. "So Jungkook and Minsun really can't stand each other?"
"Not even a little," Yoongi confirmed. "That's the only reason Minsun showed up here —because Sohee came. He just wants an excuse to hover around."
Jimin pressed further, lowering his voice.
"But then why is Tae writing notes for Minsun if Jungkook hates him? And why did he rush to pick up Sohee's bag just now?"
