Important Client

EXHIBITION, MOSCOW

Kevin, Rina, and Mother were enjoying the atmosphere of Moscow. They strolled along the legendary Arbat Street, took the time to taste typical Russian culinary delights, and hunted for unique gifts and souvenirs.

Their journey culminated at The State Tretyakov Gallery. At this renowned art museum, they were scheduled to meet a Russian client named Dmitri.

Before long, they finally found Mother's client in one of the exhibition corridors. Dmitri appeared to be speaking to someone on his mobile phone.

Although the conversation was incomprehensible because it was in Russian, the serious expression on his face implied that the discussion was very important.

Realizing this, they decided not to interrupt and chose to wait patiently until he finished speaking.

Ten minutes passed, and Dmitri's conversation ended.

Dmitri realized that people had been waiting for him while he was on the phone. He then approached them and asked,

“Извините, вы меня знаете?

(Excuse me, do you know me?).” Dmitri asked.

However, they only remained silent and stared at one another because they did not understand the language.

“Похоже, вы не из России.”

(It seems you are not from Russia).”

“Do you know me? Why were you waiting for me to finish my phone call? Who are you?” asked Dmitri, switching his language.

“Oh, ya, I am sorry. Allow me to introduce myself; I am Ratna, the substitute manager from DNA Property. Could you spare a moment to discuss the design that you previously agreed upon?” the mother answered.

Since it was a matter of business, Kevin and Rina decided to step away and began observing the paintings around them.

“Oh, from DNA. I can, but not now. Let's do it the day after tomorrow. If you are available then, come directly to my office. Here is the address,” said Dmitri while handing over a business card containing his office details.

Mother accepted the business card and replied, “Very well, Sir, I will come the day after tomorrow. Thank you very much for your time.”

Dmitri took notice of Kevin and Rina. He sensed that they had a genuine interest in art. This was evident because, since entering the museum, they had not merely been glancing at the works, but were also reading each piece of information provided next to every painting.

Seeing this, Dmitri asked Bunda to bring them along to his office. He wanted to show them another collection of paintings located there.

HIDDEN SCENE

“РОМАН, ЧЕРТ ВОЗЬМИ!!! ВЫХОДИ, УБЛЮДОК!!!

(ROMAN, DAMN IT!!! GET OUT, YOU BASTARD!!!).” the unknown man shouted, breathless, as he threw open and searched the rooms of the house one by one.

Finally, the man found Roman, who was fast asleep on the bed. Without further ado, he grabbed Roman’s collar, jolting him awake, and immediately dragged him out of the room roughly.

"Как этот подонок смеет так спокойно спать?

(How dare this bastard sleep so comfortably?)" he hissed in a low voice laden with rage.

The man’s steps only came to a halt once he had successfully dragged Roman out to the front yard. Showing no mercy, he immediately tightened his grip around Roman’s neck, strangling him with full force while letting out a heartbreaking scream.

“Ты всё ещё можешь спать спокойно?! А?! Моя семья разрушена! Мои сын и жена мертвы из-за тебя!!! СУКА!!!!!!!!!!

(Can you still sleep peacefully?! Huh?! My family is destroyed! My son and wife are dead because of you!!! BITCH!!!!!!!!!!)"

Both of his hands continued to lock around Roman’s neck, as if he wanted to squeeze the very last breath out of the man who now lay helpless beneath his grip.

However, slowly, his grip loosened. Roman coughed, gasping for air from the stranger's chokehold...

The man then collapsed, sitting down weakly. He sobbed uncontrollably, as if the world had crumbled right before his eyes.

"Почему? Почему мой сын…? Почему моя жена?.. АААРГХ! Как я мог доверять этому ублюдку!

(Why? Why my son…? Why my wife?.. AAARGHK! How could I have trusted this bastard!)” he cursed between gasps while staring intensely into Roman's eyes….
