love from the playground

This story begins with a girl named Jinni who gets admitted to a new school. She doesn't like to talk much, but then she meets someone who gives her the courage to live life openly.

When Jinni first got admission to Sunrise Public School, she was only in UKG. The school felt big, noisy, and scary. She stood alone near the playground, holding her water bottle tightly, unsure where to go.

That was when Vivek noticed her.

Vivek was also in UKG—small, curious, and confident. He walked up to Jinni, smiled, and said,

“Will you be my friend?”

Jinni didn’t answer. She just nodded.

From that day, they became friends.

Every day during recess, they met in the playground. They shared swings, slides, and laughter. Vivek always waited for Jinni before starting any game. Jinni trusted Vivek more than anyone else in school.

Their friendship grew with time.

UKG turned into LKG, and LKG turned into Class 1. For three years, they sat near each other, played together, fought over crayons, and made up within minutes. The playground became their world.

Jinni remembered everything—how Vivek used to save a seat for her, how he gave her his pencil when hers broke, how he stood beside her whenever she felt scared.

But after Class 1, everything changed.

Jinni’s family had to move. One day, she attended school for the last time. She looked at the playground, the swings, and the corner where Vivek used to wait for her. She wanted to tell him, but she didn’t know how.

So she left.

Years passed.

Jinni never forgot Vivek. The playground stayed alive in her memories—the laughter, the friendship, the silent care.

But Vivek grew older.

New friends came. New classes began. Slowly, the memories of the small girl from the playground faded. He forgot her—not because she wasn’t important, but because childhood memories sometimes hide deep inside the heart.

Yet somewhere, in a quiet corner of time,

their story remained unfinished—

a love born in the playground, remembered by one heart, and lost by the other.

Vivek was always thoughtful in little ways. He would bring chocolates for Jinni almost every day, often running to the school shop to get her favorite ones. Sometimes, he would hold her hand while walking to the playground, making sure she didn’t get lost in the crowd. It was small, simple, and innocent—but for Jinni, those gestures made her feel safe, cared for, and happy.

Every day during recess, they met in the playground. They shared swings, slides, and laughter. Vivek always waited for Jinni before starting any game. Jinni trusted Vivek more than anyone else in school.

UKG passed quickly, then LKG, and then Class 1. For three years, their friendship grew stronger. They fought over crayons, argued about whose turn it was on the swing, and shared secrets only they could understand. The playground became their world—a place where laughter and chocolates were enough to make everything perfect.

But after Class 1, everything changed.

Jinni’s family had to move to another city. On her last day at Sunrise Public School, she walked slowly past the playground. She looked at the swings, the slide, and the corner where Vivek used to wait for her. She wanted to say goodbye, to tell him how much she would miss him—but she didn’t know how.

So she left.

Years passed.

Jinni never forgot Vivek. She remembered everything—the chocolates he gave her, the way he held her hand, the quiet care he showed, and the countless little moments that made her feel special. The playground, though far away, lived in her heart.

Vivek grew older. New friends came. New classes began. Slowly, the memories of the small girl from the playground faded. He forgot her—not because she wasn’t important, but because childhood memories sometimes hide deep inside the heart.

Yet Jinni didn’t forget.

Now, in Class 11, every time she saw a playground, her heart skipped a little. She could still remember Vivek’s smile, the small chocolates, and the feeling of being cared for without words. She smiled sometimes for no reason at all, and no one around her knew why.

Some people leave our lives early,

but the love they leave behind stays forever.

And even after all these years, love from the playground still lived in Jinni’s heart.
