The metallic tang of blood and the acrid scent of stale gun oil assaulted Taehyung's nostrils. He scrunched his nose, desperate to escape the suffocating air. A dull ache throbbed in his skull, his body feeling heavy and numb. He tried to move his hands, but the sharp bite of cold metal on his wrists brought him up short.

His arms were stretched taut, pulled in opposite directions and shackled high above him. He was suspended, barely able to touch the floor with the tips of his toes. He was a statue, held captive in the crushing dark.

Slowly, his eyes fluttered open. A wave of dizziness washed over him, but his vision remained black. A thick cloth covered his face, blocking out everything except a faint, yellowish glow seeping through the weave. He strained against the restraints, but only the chilling scrape and clink of heavy chains answered him.

"Where am I? Hey! Anyone there... please answer me!" His voice cracked, desperation clawing at his throat. "Why did you kidnap me? Let me go! I have to find my son, please...!"

The sudden, crisp click of footsteps echoing on the concrete floor made him freeze. His breath hitched. He didn't know who was there, but one thought consumed him: Ggukkie. In this moment of powerlessness, he didn't care for his own suffering. His son was his only reason to survive—his only anchor.

The footsteps stopped directly in front of him. A rough hand grabbed the black cloth, yanking it away. Taehyung blinked rapidly, his eyes burning as they struggled to adjust to the dim, harsh light of the basement.

And then, his heart stopped.

Standing before him, silhouetted against a flickering bulb, was a face he had tried for five long years to forget. His lips parted, a breathless whisper escaping. "Jungkook."

A slow, chilling smile spread across Jungkook’s face, devoid of warmth. He took a deliberate step closer, the sound of his expensive shoes unnervingly clear. "Oh, you remember me? I thought you’d forgotten all about me... but it seems you still recall my name, hmm?"

Taehyung couldn't speak. He was hypnotized, his wide eyes absorbing every line and shadow of Jungkook’s face. This was the man his heart had secretly craved for half a decade. The world and his pain faded into a distant hum; in this moment, only Jungkook existed.

For a fleeting second, Jungkook’s gaze flickered with something unreadable—a ghost of the emotion they once shared. But it vanished instantly. He jerked his head, dismissing the thought, and gave a sharp signal to a guard lurking in the shadows.

A second later, a bucket of icy water slammed into Taehyung’s face.

The shock was brutal. His body convulsed, drenched and shivering violently. The freezing liquid snapped him back to his cruel reality. He gasped, looking up as water streamed down his face and hair.

"How was the welcome? Did you like my way of greeting guests?" Jungkook mocked, circling Taehyung slowly like a predator. "You’re a very special guest, Taehyung. Tell me... are you feeling cold?"

"Please, Kook—I mean, Jungkook... let me go, please..." Taehyung begged, his body aching. Tears, hot despite the cold water, slipped from his eyes.

"Ha!" Jungkook scoffed. "Why would I ever let you go? I brought you here to take care of you. I want to see you in pain. Seeing you suffer... ah, it gives me such a satisfied feeling." His voice was a low, guttural purr.

"Please, don't do this... I have to find—" Taehyung stopped abruptly, a desperate tremor running through him. He couldn't mention Ggukkie. He couldn't let this monster know about his son.

"Why did you stop? Don't you want to finish your sentence?" Jungkook stepped into his personal space, his voice laced with mock concern. Taehyung remained silent, his gaze fixed on the floor.

With a sudden, brutal move, Jungkook gripped Taehyung's hair from behind, yanking his head back. Taehyung hissed as his neck arched painfully. "FINISH THE SENTENCE, PARK TAEHYUNG!"

The name hit Taehyung like a physical blow. Park Taehyung. Jungkook knew about his marriage to Woo-bin. A chilling fear froze his thoughts. If Jungkook knew about the marriage, what if he found Ggukkie?

"I will never leave you. You are in my cage now," Jungkook roared, his grip tightening before he released him. "You left me in the dark. Now, I will make your life a living hell."

Panic and frustration finally boiled over in Taehyung’s chest. "Just leave me, Jungkook! Why are you doing this?!" he yelled, fueled by the need to protect his son. "JEON JUNGKOOK! I DON’T WANT YOU NEAR ME! GET THE HELL OUT OF MY LIFE!"

Jungkook’s patience snapped. He gave a sharp nod to a nearby guard. The man, wearing thick gloves, stepped forward and delivered a hard, open-palmed slap across Taehyung's face.

Taehyung didn't flinch. He didn't even cry. He was familiar with slaps and kicks from his "good husband." He simply took the blow, a silent, obedient figure.

Jungkook’s cruel smile froze. He had expected tears or defiance—not this blank, unfeeling acceptance. The soft, fragile doll he once knew, who cried at a harsh word, now took a violent blow as if it meant nothing. He signaled the guard to stop as a trickle of blood welled from the corner of Taehyung’s mouth.

Jungkook strode forward, grabbing Taehyung’s chin roughly. "Wow, Taehyung. Look at you," he snarled, a mix of fury and twisted fascination in his eyes. "I love seeing you like this."

Taehyung blinked, his eyes empty. "If you’re done... then leave me.

"NO! NEVER, MR. PARK TAEHYUNG!"

Jungkook seized his hair again, his face inches away. "Do you truly think I'll let you go after what you did? After you murdered our child?"

Taehyung’s blood ran cold. "Wha-what baby? What are you talking about?"

Jungkook’s face contorted with raw fury. "You committed a sin! You killed my child, my unborn baby, my only light! You aborted our child, Tae... oh, sorry, Park Taehyung."

Horror washed over Taehyung as the realization hit. The past was catching up to him, twisted into a lie he couldn't explain while shackled to a wall.

"H-how do you know?" he whispered, his voice devoid of hope.

Jungkook leaned closer, his voice a terrifying purr. "I know much more. Just watch how I turn your 'happy' marriage life into a living hell. Now, you will finally see the mafia side of JJK."

Taehyung didn't look up. He didn't argue. His mind was miles away, screaming for a little boy who was currently at the mercy of the very men holding him captive.
