CHAPTER 1: The Girl With The Calloused Hands

“Ugh damn it.” Holly says wiping blood from her hand on her apron as she goes back to cutting up meat from a dear she hunted. She has always done hard work as she is the only one who can support her family because her dad died a while back when she was 14 (she is 19 now) and then her mom when into a deep depression after the death of herr father, and her little sister Lilly was to little to do any work (Lilly is 9) besides holly wouldn’t want her to work anyways. So Holly has been doing all the hunting, cutting wood, and doing the cooking and cleaning, and all of the hard labor. She has always daydreamed about being able to relax and take a break but she can’t for her family. She finally finished cuttingng up the meat. She moves to thee cooker and puts the meat in, and moves to set up the table.

“Dinner will be done in 20 minutes!” Holly yells to her mom and sister.

“Okayy!” Lilly yells back.

“Help mom get ready Lilly.” Holly says checking the meat.

“Will do sis.” Lilly says going to her mom’s room to help herr get up for dinner.

Holly gets the meat out after 20 minutes and cuts it up more and puts it on 3 different plates. lilly brings their mom to the table and then Lilly sits down herself.

“Here.” Holly puts the plates in front of them then sitting down and eating.

“Thank you Holly.” Lilly says eating.

“No problem” Holly says eating.

Holly’s mom eats quietly she doesn’t talk much after her dad’s death, she doesn’t blame her if could she not talk she would bit she has to carry on and support her family no matter what. Holly eats while spacing off.

“Holly, earth to holly.” Lilly waves her hand in front of holly’s face.

“What?” Holly says her head snapping up.

“You were spacing off again” Lilly says look concerned for her sister.

“Oh yeah I’m fine don’t worry about it Lilly-Billy.” Holly says ruffling Lilly’s hair.

Lilly giggles “stop it holly” Lilly says as she continues to giggle.

“Fine fine” Holly says moving her hand. “By the way I’m going into town tomorrow so watch over mom, okay?” Holly says going back to eating.

“Okay okay I know the drill.” Lilly says as she has watched over her mom many times while Holly has gone out.

“Good job.” Holly says picks up the table and goes to clean the dishes. “Lilly get mom ready for bed please.” Holly says washing the dishes.

“Okay sis” Lilly runs off to get her and her mom ready for bed.

Holly washes the dishes then goes off to bed.

Holly gets up she checks on her mom and Lilly, and she gets ready to go to the shops to trade and sell hoping to get some money for her family but as she’s walking through the shops she bumps into a tall handsome man……
