Goin to School

“*RUN!” she said as she saw her friend running and fading away into the woods.  Edge used all her fire power to go against ice which wasn’t hard but it was strong enough to lose her balance and fall to the cold harsh ground.  He came closer as she tried crawling away slowly with her leaving a trail of blood behind her. When she turned, she saw him ready with the dagger in his hand.  She tried getting up but she was so weak that she tumbled down again with blood staining the hard and snowy ground. She turned around slowly shuddering with pain. Screaming, the man stabs her, with Edge only seeing the white light*… 

Edge thrashed her eyes open quickly sitting up, gasping for air.  She blinked her eyes a couple of times with her head still fuzzy from the lack of sleep.  She looked around, she was on the floor of her room. Edge grabbed her head so the world could stop shaking like miracas.  

“O good, it was just the dream… again.” she said as she got up from the hard cold floor, feeling a little dizzy.  

She walked to her night stand like a zombie and checked the time, 

“ I’m gonna make it.” she said rushing to her closet.

She ripped her favorite t\-belly shirt and her ripped jeans from the closet.  She threw her shirt on, and while running to get her favorite work boots, she tried getting her jeans on but failed by plopping down to the ground on her face.  

“ owwww…” she said getting up holding her head with pain like a bullet through the head.  

She quickly put her shorts on while lying on the ground.  After that she rolled over got up and got her boots.  

Struggling to get her boots on, she grabbed her choker.  Edge took her backpack, books, and shoved a hairbrush in the backpack. She couldn’t believe the time that she wasted.  Edge ran downstairs where she saw her brother already ready for school. 

“Where have you been, and why did I hear a thud from your room?” said Gabe impatiently.

“ Just tripped over while I was getting ready,” said Edge.

“Well glad ur ok, NOW LET’S GO!”  Gabe said with a temper of impatience. 

Gabe didn’t really care for Edge, he was the kinda person were he thinks he cares when he doesn’t, but she gets along with him better the most.  Edge just rolled her eyes, grabbed her black leather jacket, and walked out the door.  

On their walk to school, Edge quickly brushed her long choppy black hair.  Her knots got worse as he went down all the way to her ted tips.  

“EDGE!” yelled someone behind Gabe and Edge.  “EDGE WAIT UP!” said the person again except more closer.

Edge swung her whole body around to see the person and she realized it was her best friend.  She stopped Gabe from walking so her friend could catch up.

“LG,” said Edge, looking surprised.  “I thought you took the bus.” She said confused as ever.

“I did,” LG replied.  “But the incident that happened last year between me, you, and the other people affected this year.”

“Oh,” Edge said having the awful thought.  Edge vowed to her life that she would never talk about The Incident as long as she lived.  Not even her family knows.

As they were walking through the woods, Edge heard something behind her, LG, and Gabe.  She looked behind them and saw a shadow passing the trees.

“GUYS!” yelled Edge, trying to turn LG and Gabe around as quickly as possible.

“What?”  LG said turning around confused.  When Gabe turned around, there was nothing for them to see.  Gabe looked at Edge with frustration.  

 “ Enough with the games Edge,” Gabe said.  “We are pretty much late as it is so stop fooling around bro.” 

“HEY!”  Edge protested, “For one I’m older than you so don’t tell me what to do and for two I’m not fooling around, I actually saw someone.”

Edge hated it when her younger siblings put her down, even her parents.  The only one that even supported her was LG. Every single day when Edge has a thought an idea, her family either makes fun of her or ignore her. 

“ Whatever,”  Gabe said. “ Lets just go.”

On their way to school, Edge and LG were talking trash about cheer.  They weren't fans on wearing mini skirts whatsoever. The only short things she would only wear would be her belly shirt.  

“Who wears short stuff in winter, especially skirts” Edge asked chuckling while saying it.

“Uh you?.”  LG said in a funny tone in her throat.  

“O yeah…” Edge said looking at herself.  “ You also,” Edge replied. LG looked at herself also and said,

“Well maybe it’s because we very rarely get cold in the winter, everyone one knows that for sure. “

“Yeah and you’re the lucky ones for sure,” said Gabe shaking like miracas cold.  Edge kinda felt bad for him but at the same time, he kinda deserves it for being so rude to her.  

As they were walking towards the school, Edge and LG shuddered by the past like it was happening all over again.

“We’re here at last,” said Gabe with a  sigh of relief.

“Yeah, lets go,” Edge replied looking at the school trying to stay brave as possible, but she was horrified.  Granite Valley is alright but the “Incident” that happened last year made Edge wanna dig a hole and die in it.  It looked like LG wanted the same thing because she somehow ended up with a shovel and randomly started digging in the ground behind Edge.

“LG,” Edge said running over to LG prying the shovel outta her hands so she can stop digging.

“What the hell are you doing?” Edge asked

“What? I would rather die in a freaking hole the go back to that hell house.” LG said sounding more serious than her talking Edge outta running away to Texas.  

“I know, but we will get through this together I know we can.” Edge said lending out a hand to LG.  LG took the hand and got up. No matter what happened between Edge and LG, they always faced the worst together.  

“AWWW, What a BUNCH OF SUCKUPS!.” someone said behind the three of them.  Edge recognized the voice immediately, Edge thrashed her whole body around and ran in front of her brother with LG doing the same.  Edge thought Gabe was annoying but he was family and she still loved him no matter what. He was one of the only ones showed that he acknowledges her  exististance and doesn’t make fun of her that much. No matter if things went rough, he would still be with her.  

“ What are you doing here, We thought you were expelled for what u did?”  Edge said not trying to think much of what happened.

“Edge Edge Edge, you really think you can get rid of me that easily? I made a few arrangements with the school so, I’M BACK! And there is nothing you can do about it, my people have been trying to get your kind for a long time Edge.  We’ve been looking for you high and low and we thought that your kind doesn’t exist anymore but we finally found you.” Said the person happy as ever with an evil grin on his face.

“What do you mean Zane?” Edge said protective of her brother and with horrification and perilous filled in her voice.  

“You know what I mean Edge, the mark on your upper shoulder explains it all.”  Zane said grabbing Edges arm and throwing up the left sleeve of the leather jacket, showing the mark she had when she was a baby.

LG pushed Zane to the ground and slapped him across the face. LG hated when people go up in other people's space.

“Watch it mister, or I’ll do the whippin myself.” said LG going to Edge with a fist on her hip.  LG did the most sassy turn to look at Zane that even Edge didn’t even know LG could do. Even Gabe was impressed, and that’s not often that happens.  With her perfect posture of sas, Gabes mouth still dropped in awe, and Zane looking surprised with LGs posture and that he just got pushed down and slapped.  

Zane pushed himself up from the ground and felt his cheek which scorched in pain where LG slapped. 

“You stupid girl,” He said devilishly smiling “you are gonna pay for that.” said Zane with “Gabe”  smiling waving his index finger at LG.  

“ Try me mister, I bet im stronger than ur weak lil ole gang combined.” LG said with the bravest voice Edge has heard from her in a while.

Gabe looked at all of us “DRAAAMA”  he said musically.  

Zane looked at Gabe with an evil smile and Gabe ran behind Edge scared.  

“We’ll see.” Zane said walking to the school. Edge, LG and Gabe waited until he disappeared.  

As Edge saw Zane walking near the school she thought, What did he mean looking for your kind, and what does he mean he finally found me.  Haven’t we been in the same grades together this whole time???

As they saw him leave into the school, Gabe tried to run to the school but Edge grabbed the collar of his shirt and lifted him up from the ground by the collar.

“Oh no you don’t, you’re not going without us mister.” Edge said lifting him up high enough so their eyes could meet.  He tried squirming out of her grip, but she was to strong. He rolled up in his ball position again and huffed up giving up.  

“Why do you have to be stronger than everyone else?  I mean ur suppose to be a stupid, ugly, unloved, non-special human being.” Gabe said giving her the death stare while pouting of jealousy.

“I might be stupid, ugly, unloved, or non-special but im stronger than you and don’t you forget it. Understand that?” Edge said.

Gabe refused for a second to say such a thing, but he gave up and bowed his head down with shame just for admitting it.

“Yes Edge, I get it,” he said, “can you please let go of me now, I wanna go see my friends and break some rules if you know what I mean by that.” Gabe said giving an evil grin and snickering.  Edge looked behind her and saw LG behind her giving her an evil grin and nodded.

Edge smiled “OK,” she said confidently.  Edge dropped Gabe and he fell hard to the ground.

“OOF!” Gabe said as hitting the ground.

“Common you goofball let’s go to school.” Edge said just as she started walking with LG towards the school.

As they were walking in the school, Gabe acted stupid and shouted out “FINALLY!  HEY GUYS, ME, SKETCHY EDGE, AND LIL GIRL ARE HERE!”

Everyone stared at Edge and LG like their heads were on fire.  Gabe ran up to his friends and gave them high fives and chest bumps.  

Edge never felt more embarrassed than she already did.  Never in her life she thought her brother would ever acknowledge her existence, but he did and it was at the worst of times to show it.  Her and LG walked down the hall getting stares from everyone they passed with others looking down and backing away scared. It’s like LG faced all the stares and the pressure with a shield covering her heart and punching all that embarrassment in the gut back.  But Edge couldn’t bare all the stares and the pressure just by walking down the hall for only, what was it, a minute?

No Edge thought.  I can’t do this, Im petrified on whats gonna happen next.  I just want to run and don’t look back.   

But then she looked at LG and shook that thought away because she realized that she had to push her way through school no matter what for her friend.  So she lifted her head high trying to fight the fear inside and walked down the hall.
