The Echoes of the Demigod
The Weight of the Bloodline
I look at my hands now, shimmering with the ichor of the gods, and I remember when they were stained with the red earth of Greece. I was born into a legacy of kings, but it was my mother, Alcmene, who held the true gravity of our house.
She was a princess of the line of Perseus, carrying the grace and fire of the Gorgon-slayer in her very marrow. I remember her standing in the courtyard—her olive-brown skin like polished cedar, her chocolate-brown hair braided back like a crown. She looked at me with those deep, dark eyes, and I saw the reflection of a thousand years of heroes.
The Revelation
"You are more than a prince," she had whispered, her voice a low vibration that felt like distant thunder. That was the day she told me the truth that changed the stars. My father wasn't just a king; he was the Olympic God. Zeus. In that moment, the blood of Perseus in my veins seemed to catch fire. I wasn't just following in the footsteps of an ancient line; I was destined to eclipse it.
The Mortal Peak
The years that followed were a blur of gold and iron. I found love that burned brighter than a funeral pyre, and I won riches that could buy the horizon. As a hero in my youth and adult years, I was unmatched. I broke the unbreakable and conquered the unconquerable. My life was a storm of glory. I earned my place in the heavens through sweat, blood, and the sheer will of a man who refused to be forgotten.
The Divine Amnesia
Now, I sit among the clouds. The weariness of old age is gone, replaced by this eternal, shimmering perfection. I have retired from the world of men and become a God. I have reached the end of the hero’s path.
Yet, there is a hole in my mind where the ending should be. I remember the glory, I remember the fame, and I remember the faces of those I loved. But the transition—the final breath that severed the man from the myth—remains a blur. I was the greatest to ever walk the earth... so why can’t I remember the moment I died?
