Infinity Cycle

Infinity Cycle

chapter 1- The flicker

*The Infinite Cycle*

In the vast expanse of the cosmos, where stars were born and died in whispers of light, a secret pulsed. A cycle, ancient and unyielding, governed the rise and fall of universes. Creation and destruction danced in a delicate balance, each ending a prelude to a new beginning.

In a remote corner of reality, physicist Lyra Chen stumbled upon a flicker—a glitch in the fabric of space-time. It led her to a hidden gateway, a portal to infinite parallel universes. With it, she unlocked a journey that would unravel the threads of existence itself.

The cycle awaited.

Dr. Lyra Chen's eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the dim glow of her observatory's console. The night outside was a velvet curtain, dotted with stars she had spent years studying. Her mind, still tangled in equations, cling to the anomaly.

"Ada, what's the status?" she asked, voice husky from hours of silence.

The AI's response was immediate. "Anomaly persists, Dr. Chen. Parameters unchanged. Should I—"

"Run the analysis again," Lyra interrupted, swinging her legs off the cot. The cold floor jolted her awake. "Focus on the 3786-GHz band. I think we're missing something."

The observatory, perched on a remote mountain, was her sanctuary. No interruptions, no distractions—just data and the hum of the universe. Lyra had isolated herself here months ago, chasing a thread that might unravel the fabric of reality itself.

As Ada recalculated, Lyra paced, fingers drumming the console. Patterns danced in her mind like fireflies—wormholes, quantum fluctuations, the ghost of a multiverse. Theories she'd dismissed as fringe now seemed plausible.

The screen flickered. Data spilled like a waterfall.

"Dr. Chen, I have it," Ada said, tone unchanged. "The anomaly's a gateway. Probability of error: 0.0007%."

Lyra's breath caught. This was it.

She pulled up schematics of the observatory's hidden lab—a project mothballed by funding cuts. The portal experiment. Rumors said it was possible to breach dimensions. She hadn't believed… until now.

"Ada, patch me into the lab. I need control."

The lab's holographic interface materialized. Lyra's pulse spiked as she keyed in the sequence. The room's walls began to blur, like reality was a painting dipped in water.

"Warning: energy levels critical," Ada said.

"Override safety protocols," Lyra whispered.

A heartbeat later, the lab vanished in a burst of light.

When Lyra opened her eyes, she was elsewhere.

The air tasted like ozone. A shimmering void hovered where the lab had been—a portal. On the other side, stars moved in impossible ways.

Lyra's grin was feral. _This is it._ She reached for her comms device.

"Kael. I found it."

The device crackled. "Lyra? What's going on?"

"Get here. Now."

The portal pulsed, hungry for its next guest.

Lyra stepped closer, eyes locked on the stars. _Infinite possibilities await._

The observatory's alarms blared, reality's fabric tearing apart.

_The flicker became a storm._

_To be continued…_
