CHAPTER 4

Kevin's POV

“Orry missed you, brother. Why didn’t you come back all these days?” he said, clinging to him.

And honestly? I didn’t like Orry either. It was my first time meeting them, but I could already tell, none of them were good people.

Even though that red-haired omega spoke gently, he didn’t give off the feeling of a good person.

“Brother, please don’t hit our new brother. He’ll hate you if you hurt him,” Orry said, his voice soft and pleading.

Adrian scoffed. “Who cares if he hates me or not? If he dares to talk back to me again, I’ll show him real hell,” he growled.

With that, he turned and left, Orry following close behind. After them, their father also walked away. Soon, only Mom and I were left standing there.

She glanced at me and came closer, holding both my hands with a small smile. “Are you okay? You shouldn’t have talked back to Adrian. He’s Mr. Dan’s fourth son, and he has a bad temper,” she said gently.

“Mom, he said horrible things about you. And you’re still acting like it’s nothing? Why are you going this far?” I asked.

I knew my words were harsh, but I couldn’t accept someone disrespecting my mom like that.

Her hands slowly slipped out of mine. She looked shocked.

“Kevin, please don’t make things harder for me,” she said softly.

And without saying another word, she turned and walked away, leaving me alone. I stood there, stunned. What was happening? Why did she leave me? Where was I supposed to go now?

Just then, a beta servant approached me. “Hello. Come with me. I’ll show you your room.”

I nodded and followed him. He seemed… decent. At least kinder than the others.

As we passed the staircase, several photo frames hung on the wall, pictures of the four sons of this house.

The one I met earlier was the fourth son, Adrian. A university student. Twenty-one years old.

The eldest was Lucas. In his photo, he was holding an Actor of the Year trophy. He had black hair, black eyes, and a large, imposing build. He was twenty-eight.

The second son was Julian. His hair was white, unique compared to his brothers, while his eyes were black. He was twenty-five and wore a navy-blue suit in the photo, fitting for someone who handled the family business.

The third son was Sebastian, twenty-three years old. Brown hair, black eyes, and a famous volleyball player.

There was also a photo of Orry, smiling sweetly. The servant finally led me to my room. But the moment I stepped inside, my chest sank.

The room was dusty. There was no bedsheet, no mattress, only a hard wooden bed with a thin pillow and a blanket tossed on top.

I turned to the servant. “What’s the meaning of this?” I asked.

He smiled mockingly. “Can’t you understand? Our master has given you a place to stay. Be grateful and accept whatever you’re given.”

He scoffed. I smiled at his words.

Because yes, I probably looked like a pushover. People often mistook me for an easy target.

I turned back to him. “Who gave you these orders?” I asked calmly.

“Or are you barking on your own?”
