Part4

Hyungie, what’s wrong? Are you okay?" Vante asked, hugging his brother back. He knew, without a doubt, that something had happened. For the first time in his life, his Hyung seemed truly terrified.

No, I’m fine... Are you okay?" Tae pulled back slightly, cupping Vante’s face in his hands as if to reassure himself of his brother’s presence. After the death of their father, Vante was the only family he had left in this world.

Go back to sleep... I just came to check on you." With that, he turned and walked out of the room

.Behind him, Vante remained, watching his brother leave with a look of deep concern.

Vante (Internal Monologue): After all, for him too, his brother was the only family he had left after their father's passing.

In morning

Tae and Vante were eating breakfast when someone burst through the main door like a whirlwind and jumped straight onto Vante.

HYUNGIE!!!!!!" Taetae screamed. The newcomer’s shout was loud enough to practically blast their ears open

.Aaaaaah! Tae-Tae! You're going to kill me! Does anyone jump on someone like that?!" Vante started his dramatic complaining.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the table, Tae remained preoccupied with his food, seemingly unfazed.

"Hyungie! Taetae missed you so much!" Taetae said to Vante. He then scrambled up and ran toward Tae, but suddenly skidded to a halt. He knew that this particular Hyung was a bit... cold.

Taetae stood there, blinking his eyes innocently at Taehyung like a puppy.....

Taehyung: "Taetae, why are you standing there like that?" he asked. He knew this little "Satan" wasn't nearly as innocent as he looked.

Taetae: "Oh, Hyungie... Taetae missed you so much! Did you miss Taetae?" He said this with his wide, signature boxy smile and immediately went to sit right up against Taehyung, clinging to him.

(No matter how much he might be intimidated by him, he was still their darling. After all, Taehyung was the one who had raised him the most since they were children.)

Taehyung: "Yes, Hyungie missed Taetae too..." he said softly, gently stroking the boy's hair.

Vante: Seeing this, poor Vante practically exploded with indignation. This gentle, affectionate side of his brother was reserved only for that little devil.

Vante: "Hyungie! You talk to him so lovingly, but you look at me like you’re ready to eat me alive!" Vante said, pouting like a grumpy child.

Taetae: "Vante Hyung, it's because Taetae is a baby, right Hyungie?" he asked, looking up at Taehyung. Then, he turned back to Vante with a deadpan expression. "And don't pout like a baby; you just look dramatic."

Vante glared at him, looking like he was about to lose his mind.

Taehyung: "Yes, Taetae is a baby, but that’s enough—both of you stop fighting. Vante, he’s younger than you, don’t bicker with him. And you, Taetae... he’s your Hyung, don’t tease him all the time," Taehyung said in a flat voice, yet it carried an edge of authority.

Taetae: "Taetae doesn't fight; Hyung is the one who starts it first..." he muttered, looking down with a perfectly innocent face.

Vante: "Hyungie, look! Look how he’s acting so saintly now, as if it’s all my fault!"

Taehyung: "That’s enough, both of you. Vante, finish your food. And Taetae, tell me—how are Uncle and Auntie? And what brings you here so early?" he asked while eating.

Taetae was their cousin and the youngest of them all, making him everyone’s darling. He visited their house often.

Taetae: "Hyungie, Omma and Appa went to a party, and since Taetae was free, they told me to go to my Hyung’s house," he said, casually stealing a strawberry from Vante’s plate.
