Assassin Alpha
Hey there! My name’s Nirshitha. Let me begin with my
backstory. It’s not that big, but I’ll try to expand as big as I can.
Here…My family! Me, mother, and father. But
unfortunately…mom disappeared. Dad married an aunt to take care of me. But
things began to get worse. Once again! Unfortunately, dad disappeared and
what’s next….
Aunt married to another uncle. Finally, I was left out…I
mean they didn’t even given a damn care about me. Good grief, One day! I saw
the newspaper article about a high school offering scholarships that—“THOSE WHO
SCORE THE FIRST HIGH MARKS IN THE ENTRANCE EXAM WILL BE GRANTED WITH AN
ULTIMATE SCHOLARSHIP. NO NEED TO PAY A SINGLE RUPEE, INCLUDING HOSTEL FEE IF
REQUIRED.”
That’s
it! I took it as a chance to get rid of my aunt and uncle. Luckily, I’ve gained
the scholarship and right now….I’m heading to the school. So this is my
story. I’ve already told you that it’s not that interesting. Well! The one
beside me is my aunt and the one driving the car is my uncle. They really felt
happy, after hearing about my scholarship. But wait! Before saying this, please
don’t get the wrong idea about me. The thing is – in a rush of getting rid of
them, I forgot to enquire about the hostel in detail. I mean, the maintenance,
teaching faculty, the building. So, I’m eager to see it. This journey is really
taking so long. Seems like the hostel is really far from the town. The time’s
moving.
“Hey! Nirshitha, wake up.” “Hmm, aunt what is it?” “C’mon!
It’s time for you to leave, we reached your hostel.” She opens the door(car),
comes out.
“Wait guys! The building looks a bit old.” They visited all
the places- hostel rooms, classrooms and stuff. Nirshitha, downing her head,
talking within herself…”It’s totally opposite to what I’ve imagined. But
there’s no choice left for me. I need to stay here.” Completing all the
formalities for her
admission, her aunt and uncle left from there. “Yeah! Finally, I can live as I
want to. I was able to get rid of those guys.” She’s walking in the corridor to
her classroom. Heard a sound- stared out through the window- “Seriously! It’s
raining. But the weather’s good here. Everyone joins their new schools freshly
in the mornings, but weirdly, I joined in the evening. Whatever, it doesn’t
matter now. Oh! As the receptionist guided, my class must be this one room 57.
The class is too noisy. Seems like there’s no teacher in the class. I wish I
could get along with everyone. Well! I’m going in. she enters the room. At
once, everything became calm. All the students started staring at her. Then she
saw a guy in the last bench sleeping. He woke up, “C’mon! why everyone became
silent? Does the teacher come?” he mumbled. “Ah! It’s just a new girl.” She
just walked with a smile and sat in the last bench, beside the sleepy guy. The
class became noisy again. She looked at around the class and found the sleepy
guy staring at her. She didn’t get it. He asked her name. “I’m Nirshitha, how
about you?”
“You interrupted my sleep, and about my mane, you can call me whatever
you want to.” “Wait! Did I wake him up? Give me a break! What a weirdo!” she
mumbled. “Hey, what are you thinking? At least try to act like you are
apologizing.” He said. “Why should I?” He got pissed, “I’ve already told you!
You interrupted my sleep. You need to apologize.” She began to feel uncomfortable
about his behavior. Then a girl sitting in front of her, turned back…“New girl
right! Sorry about that. There’s thing you need to get adopted in the class. I
mean try to ignore him. He’s always like this, acting all weirdly, living in
his own world.”
After hearing her words, she was like, “Well! Thankyou!” “C’mon girl!
It’s alright. So I’m Rekha.” “I’m Nirshitha. Pleasure to meet you. The guy kept
on staring her like he’s about to kill her. She’s trying so hard to ignore him,
talking with Rekha. In that way, time began to move. “Hmm…I was able to make a
friend on the first day.” Rekha asked, “What’s your room number in the hostel?”
“It’s in the fourth floor, fifth room from the stairs.” “mine is in fourth too,
beside yours. But I didn’t knew about vacancies in the fourth floor. Whatever,
it’s alright.”
The bell rang! After having dinner, they both went to the
dorms. Actually, each room is allotted with four students. But unfortunately,
the strength has been increased. Both Nirshitha and Rekha are adjusting to
living with an extra fifth member in the room. Nirshitha tried to get along
with her roommates, but as the fifth member, they developed a hatred for her
instead of adjusting.
She couldn’t sleep properly on the first day. The next
morning, she got ready and came to class. No one has come yet except the weird
guy from yesterday. He’s sleeping. She silently came and sat in her place.
“This hostel is just opposite to what I’ve imagined. I feel like quitting
already. But this is far better than staying in the home with those people
again.”
Then someone came, it’s her friend. After a while the
classes began. She looked beside, it’s that weird guy! He’s sleeping, and the
teachers aren’t reacting too. Everyone’s acting like his presence was nothing.
In that way, a week passed.
It was evening. No one was in the class. But Nirshitha and
Rekha were still in the class. The sleepy guy’s there too, sleeping. “I
couldn’t get along with the roommates. Being an extra fifth member in the room
is really not a good thing. But there are six floors in the hostel, right? Why
should we get adjusted in fourth floor?” asked Nirshitha.
Rekha said, “C’mon! Let’s talk this over with the principal
to shift us to the fifth floor. They both explained their problems about
sharing their room with the former students. The principal was like, “You know
about the fifth and sixth floor, right? All three …The campus, boys' and girls'
hostels are connected. I can guarantee that any risks or sneaking will not be
done since all the doors of the respective buildings are locked. All the
problem is, can you two stay on the fifth floor all alone by yourselves?
“We can sir! All we need is another room.”
After hearing their words, he accepted
Now, they both stay on fifth floor, first room near the stairs.
Nirshitha stood outside the room and looked to her right
side. “It’s freaking dark and creepy too.” In that way, the night passed.
As ever, Nirshitha came to the class early. The sleepy
guy’s sleeping. “Give me a break! Is
he always like this , sleeping all day! I
didn’t see him around, not even in the corridor or at the mess. I’ve never seen him awake. So weird of him.”
The classes began.
It was afternoon. Rekha left out for an outing with her
parents. Nirshitha’s so bored without her. After having dinner, she left for
her room. When she was about to open the door, looked to her right side, where
the hostel is connected to the campus. Then she heard something, “What was
that? Is someone there, or perhaps a ghost, maybe? C’mon, I’m imagining the
things.”
She went to her room and was about to sleep. It was so
dark, all alone, “C’mon! Why should this be happening to me? I can't even sleep
without a bed lamp in my own room, and now, here! Sleeping without a single
person, in this freaking dark. I wonder how I’m gonna suppose to sleep here,
damn it!” She began to worry. The time moved. She stared at the window, “Wait,
it’s morning already? I didn’t sleep at all. I should better not sleep during
the classes.” After having breakfast, she went to the class, “Him again! Will
he be just sleeping or eat something? I wonder why not even the teachers say a
word to him. It’s like he’s almost invincible, with not even a single friend.
Well, I’ll never know until I ask him directly. But how should I wake him up?”
“Hey, wake up!”
There’s no response.
“Man, seriously! Why doesn’t he just wake up?” She poked
him with a scale.
Then there’s a slight movement, he woke up slowly, looking at
her with those sleepy eyes.
“Go and have some breakfast. It’s not good for your health
if you skip breakfast, you know!”
He talked nothing but to stare at her.
“What’s up with that look on his face!”
“C’mon! Go and eat something.” He was like, “You
interrupted my sleep.” Her mind is totally blank. “Not that crap again!”, she
mumbled.
He stood up and started coughing.
“Damn, He doesn’t even carry his own bottle.”
“Here, you can borrow mine,”, she gave her bottle.
He took it and walked to the mess.
“Seeing him, even I feel to sleep now.”, she yawned.
He came back again. “Did he eat already? So fast!” He gave
the bottle and slept again.
“Seriously, He’s going to sleep again!”
