I stared at Eva and nodded slowly, it was noon. I led Eva to the cave. She looked happy and contented like someone who'd just won a lottery. I ignored her staring at the floor. I didn't want to be here, with Greg stealing the love of my life and some weird, oddly cute girl. We reached the mouth of the cave and I stared into it. Maya was sitting near Greg, her hand in his hair, while they were laughing about something. Maya looked up surprised to see me, then looked behind to see Eva. She'd stared for a while, with a curious look them turned away with a poker face. Eva entered the cave and I followed behind her. No one said a word. Eva stared around the cave and touched the walls. Greg finally spoke up, breaking the awkward silence.

"care to explain who this is Ivan?"

 he said sharply. I looked away refusing to answer I followed behind Eva sitting obediently near her. She smiled at me and continued looking around the cave.

"yeah Ivan, you can't just bring random strangers in here. What if this strange looking lady wants to hurt me. What would you do Ivan?"

Maya said. She sounded so annoying. what did she mean in her statement.

"first of all she isn't a random stranger she's my friend. Second of all, I wouldn't really care if she wanted to hurt you. I just want to get out of here. With or without you."

I answered abruptly. Maya and Greg looked taken aback. They had every right to. I had never spoken to Maya like this. And it feels kinda refreshing that I did. I don't really care about her anymore seeing how she really is. she knows I like her, I confessed once, long ago, yet she doesn't take me seriously. Eva stopped at a pattern on the cave mouth. She pushed it and it opened a doorway.

"This way Ivan."

She said it sweetly holding out her hand to me. I didn't hesitate to take it. She signalled to Greg and Maya to come if they wanted. She didn't look pleased to see them come but agreed anyway. She squeezed my hand tighter, leading me deeper. I don't know why, but I trusted her. Maya stomped forward leaving Greg behind. She was trying to catch up with me and Eva. Eva stopped abruptly, making Maya bump into the two of us.

"you can always walk behind us Miss. I'm trying to talk to my friend" Eva said quietly, her voice filled with authority

Maya didn't take the hint. She held onto my hand, batting her eyes at me, trying to make me take her side. I didn't say a word or react. I wanted to see what she would do.

"Don't know who you are or what you want but stay away from Ivan. I can see your bad intentions, you slut. You're trying to seduce him aren't you?" "I don't know who you are or what you want but stay away from Ivan. I can see your bad intentions, you slut. You're trying to seduce him aren't you?"

Eva answered with a shrug

"so what if I am, you aren't his girlfriend are you, why should you care what I'm doing? After all, you are chasing after us leaving your real boyfriend behind. Who's the slut, cause I'm pretty sure it's not me."

Maya tried to open her mouth but couldn't. Eva had put her in her in her place. We kept walking, the only sound was our footsteps and the splashing of water up ahead.

We finally reached the end of the tunnel, coming into a large space. There were three doors ahead with some writing engraved in stone. The whole area was lit up in colourful gemstones. However, there was a problem. Eva didn't move and was staring around, looking for something. Maya looked annoyed. I could feel her gaze on my back. Finally Eva started moving again with a relieved sigh.

"To get out of this cave and infinite loop of time we will need to break the crystal heart of this cave settled deep with it's walls. It's easy to break, but to get there is a difficult journey. I can lead you there, quite easily but it will take a long time to get there. But finally you will be able to return to your normal lives."

Maya opened her mouth to talk but no words came out. She obviously had nothing to say. But it looked like she was bent on ruining my friendship with Eva. I frowned as she walked closer to me and put her hand on my shoulder.

"umm.... Whatever your name is"

She said talking to Eva rudely.

"Greg wants to talk to you."

"I do?" Greg answered puzzled.

Maya kicked his shin impatiently.

"yes you do. You want to talk about the journey and whatever. and it's gonna take a long time. Isn't it Greg?" she kicked him again.

"yes, yes it is." Greg answered glumly, he saw Maya's hand on my shoulder and gave a resigned nod of impatience.

"how can Ivan snag all the pretty girls in here. First this weird one and now Maya how unfair."

Greg gave an annoyed sigh and kicked some dirt.

Maya and Greg were both too jealous
