After eating the wolf Lin Feng stood still, searching the area carefully. The smell of blood was still fresh in the air. He licked his claws slowly and his golden eyes scanned the forest. The wind moved gently between the trees but something felt wrong.
Suddenly he saw three wolf-like figures coming in his direction from afar.
His eyes narrowed.
“I knew it… there are more wolves in this area,” he thought calmly. “It’s a good thing I didn’t let that wolf activate his skill.”
He stayed still for a moment and observed their speed and direction. They were clearly heading toward this place.
“But right now I can’t kill three wolves on my own. Even with venom bite it will be dangerous.”
He was confident, but not foolish.
“Let’s go away for now.”
Without wasting time he quickly left the area, moving through bushes and climbing over tree roots silently. His small body blended with the environment easily. Soon he disappeared from the scene.
A few moments later the three wolves arrived.
They stopped near the remains.
Only bones were left. Some were shattered. Some were still stained with blood.
The three wolves sniffed around carefully. Their expressions turned fierce. They recognized the scent immediately. It was their pack member.
But mixed with that scent was something strange.
Something unfamiliar.
They looked at each other before letting out a loud howl that echoed in the dense forest.
The forest became quiet after that call.
Birds flew away.
Small animals hid.
Then from deep inside the forest, a heavy response came.
A low, deep howl filled with authority.
The ground almost felt like it trembled.
The three wolves immediately lowered their heads.
From the darkness between the trees, a figure slowly appeared.
It was bigger than a normal wolf. Much bigger.
Its fur was darker silver. One eye was glowing red under the forest light. The other eye had a long scar over it, showing it had survived many battles.
Its body was muscular and powerful. Each step it took felt heavy and steady.
This was clearly not an ordinary wolf.
This was the leader of this territory.
Its red eye scanned the broken bones on the ground. It lowered its head and sniffed once.
Then again.
Its expression slowly turned cold.
There was another scent here.
A strange one.
Not human.
Not bear.
Not tiger.
Something unknown.
Something dangerous.
A low growl escaped from its throat.
The scarred wolf slowly circled the bones, its claws pressing deep into the soil. The other three wolves remained completely silent, not daring to move without its command.
Its red eye narrowed.
The scent was still fresh.
The killer had not gone far.
It lifted its head and inhaled deeply, memorizing the strange aura mixed with blood and venom. The air carried a faint reptilian scent.
Its growl deepened.
The forest around them felt heavier, as if even the trees sensed its anger.
With a sudden movement, it raised its head and released a terrifying howl that echoed far beyond the territory.
This was not a normal call.
This was a declaration.
A warning.
The prey had entered the wrong domain.
And now—
The hunt had officially begun.
Far away, hidden beneath thick leaves, Lin Feng suddenly paused.
His pupils shrank.
He heard that howl.
And for the first time since entering this forest…
He felt danger.
Real danger.
