Jagger and Jayden

"Yeah, I can do it! I'll make Crystal fall in love with me! That's it!" Jayden declared.

All the other guys started laughing and were teasing him at his boldness. "I can prove it to you all. Stop laughing."

But how was he supposed to make the prettiest girl fall in love with him? He kept on thinking and thinking. Even though he declared that he would do it, it wasn't as easy as it seems. He was wondering if he made the right decision. He thought about it for hours at home and even when sleeping he couldn't stop thinking about how to make her love him. He started to google it and even search for some tricks and tips and finally came to the conclusion that, "I can't do it."

He regretted his decision and he also knew that he didn't actually love her. It was just that all his friends have a crush on her and have tagged her as "The most beautiful girl in college". He doesn't like her in actuality, doesn't know her personally and never had any romantic feelings for her. But it's not only about love anymore now, its about the pride of a man's word. He needs to prove his words and keep his dignity now. 

The next day, as he was entering his college campus with his friend, Morris, he asked, "do you know anything about Crystal? Like some places where she might go often or something?"

"Of course I do, I've been following her in Instagram and keep the updates of her online activities and everything!"

"Wow, you do?" Jayden wondered if it was normal to stalk women online.

"I think she has a habit of going to library and also, she's very close with her brother."

"Wait, she has a brother?" Jayden was quite surprised to hear that she had a brother as he had never actually seen or heard about him.

"Yeah, she loves him a lot and I think they are very very close."

Hearing this he thought if his brother could be of any help. He asked him again, "so, you think his brother could help me in... you know... getting closer to her?

"As much as I'm aware, he's quite possessive over his sister, but I'm not sure if you should take help from him."

"Hm... doesn't matter, I'm gonna be friends with him and know about her and her interests"

Morris looked at him and laughed. You gotta be kidding me, I don't think he would tell you about his own sister, that would be very unlikely of him."

"Nah, I think its worth a shot. I'll try being nice around him and maybe even get to his good side. It wont be a trouble later when he knows I'm dating his sister, he might as well... you know, encourage us?"

"You're taking a big decision now... It's your call"

"What's his name anyways?"

"It's Jagger"

"Sounds cool. But, it kinda sounds familiar though."

"You should know that just like his sister, he's also very famous among the girls"

"Doesn't matter, right?" 

...— ~ 👁️👄👁️ ~ —...

Jayden peeked in his class and saw a guy, his face was new to him. He had  never seen a peculiar face like this and wanted to ask his classmates about him, wanted to talk to him, but decided to ignore and sat in his seat. Many girls were around him, and were flocking him like hungry animals around their prey. He noticed how unaffected the guy was to all these women. 

As Jayden kept checking and examining him, their eyes met. He felt like he was caught doing something wrong and avoided it. But then he wondered, "wait, I didn't do anything wrong!"

Jayden opened his books and asked Morris if he knew that guy.

Morris was surprised to know that Jayden didn't know him. "Do you not know him? Really? Look at his face... Who does he look like?"

"Um.. I don't know... Who is it? Some celebrity or something?" He wondered.

"No dummy! It's Jagger! Have you not seen him?" He was kinda taken aback that he doesn't recognize him.

"Oh! Is it? I'm not so sure if I've ever seen him in college before."

"Of course you won't see him here, he's always moving around with girls and having late night parties and what not!" He said in sarcastically.

Jayden looked at Jagger and he actually found him quite handsome, and felt his chest hurt. He wondered if his pride as a man was hurting him now that he has to appreciate another guy's handsomeness. He glared at Jagger and was quite angered at how popular he was.

"So, how are you gonna ask Crystal out? Do you have any kind of plan?" Morris asked.

"I don't have one, but I also have one." He mumbled.

"What did you say?"

"Why is Jagger in our class? You got any idea?" he avoided that question with another question.

"He's here for an assignment. He needs to get a junior as his partner otherwise it will not be possible." Morris replied.

"So, all the girls around him are there to be his partner?" He questioned.

"Yeah, most possibly that would be the case!"

Jayden got up from his seat and walked a little towards Jagger, making way for himself among the girls. He banged the table with a thud and said, "I will be your partner!"

Jagger was speechless at his words, it felt weird and too gay of some kind. He was weirded out and gave a very distinct facial expression, Jayden had no idea at how stupid he just sounded. The noisy girls also went quiet and the whole atmosphere of the classroom got awkwardly silent for a moment.

Jayden then realized that he had said something which sounded so "homosexual". He felt embarrassed... A lot. But, decided to not lose his confidence.

He said, "I want to be your assignment partner. Let us do it together."

Jagger paused for a while, but didn't take him long to analyze what he just witnessed. He said, "alright." The classroom got back to being noisy and soon everybody went back to their business, but all the girls were seriously pissed off. They glared at Jayden with rage as they walked off.

However, what was more astounding to Jayden was how Jagger replied to him.

"That's it!?" He exclaimed.

"Yeah..." He said calmly as he squeezed his shoulders in. "What did you expect then?"

"Um... Nothing in particular, but..." He got pretty puzzled about how smoothly things went. He expected more tantrums and attitude complex from Jagger's side. Turned out he didn't show any weird behaviour.

"Let's go." He said and told Jayden that it's okay if he doesn't attend the lectures for the day.

Jayden was puzzled. He had no idea what he would do with him for the project. He was clueless. He wasn't even a brilliant student to be of any help. What help could he even offer for his project? And why did the teacher ask them to do it with their junior?

They walked together and Jayden didn't even know where they were going.

He worried if he would be even helping him if he told him about his intentions.
