Sometimes after sorting out my mind , reviewing the plot, and mentally screaming for a solid five minutes, I reached a very mature conclusion:
Okay. There is still time
Time to start the original novel.
Time to not die.
Just as I nodded to myself, pretending I had control over my life—
KNOCK. KNOCK.
The door opened, and the head maid walked in, wearing the exact expression of someone who had personally attended many funerals… most of them were caused by the young master.
Amelia,” she said.
Yes.
That’s me.
Future corpse.
Yes?” I replied, standing straight like my spine depended on it. (It did.)
She folded her arms. “Today, you are going to serve the young master"
...
I stared at her.
HUH.!!
She stared at me.
My soul quietly packed its bags.
Serve him.
THE HIM.
The man who kills me in the original plot.
M-me?” I asked, pointing at myself, just in case she meant another Amelia Woods who enjoys risking her life.
“Yes,” she said. “Is there a problem?”
“No!” I said immediately. Too immediately
She frowned. “You’re acting strange.”
Strange?
(Ma’am, I just unlocked my death route.)
I nodded very seriously. “Apologies. I recently… hit my head."
She gave me a look that said I don’t get paid enough for this, placed the tray in my hands with the care of someone handing over a bomb, and turned toward the door.
"One more thing,” she said, pausing.
“The young master is not in a good mood.”
Oh good.
So just murdery, not extra murdery.
She left.
The door closed.
CLICK.
I stared at the door.
Then at the tray.
Then at my future.
“…Okay,” I whispered. “We’re fine. Totally fine. Everything is under control.”
That was when it hit me.
By the conversation with the head maid, it seemed like I was reincarnated before the male lead and female lead even met each other.
…
I froze.
Early.
I’M TOO EARLY.
"Is it the punishment for commenting that the author dIdn't have sense?" I muttered (silent screaming)
I pressed a hand to my face.
“This is worse than I thought.”
The universe, clearly offended by my optimism, responded immediately.
BANG!
The door flew open.
“AMELIA—!”
I screamed "AAA AAH!!"
Actually screamed.
My roommate rushed in, eyes wild, breathing hard, like someone who had just sprinted away from Death itself
The girl standing in front of me is Mary she was Amelia 's only companion among the maids .
WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?!” she shouted.
"WHAT? Do you want me dead Mary"
"W AAH Amelia thank God you are still here "
Mary burst into tears.
Like—full dramatic, manhwa-style waterfall tears.
“WAAAH AMELIAAA—!” She grabbed my shoulders and shook me violently. “THANK GOD YOU’RE STILL HERE!”
“MARY,” I wheezed, “YOU’RE GOING TO KILL ME BEFORE HE DOES—”
She pulled back, sniffed loudly, then poked my cheek.
“…You’re warm.”
“Rude,” I said. “At least ask how I am first.”
She gasped again. “You’re not a ghost!”
“Disappointing, I know.”
Mary immediately slapped my arm
“WHY ARE YOU JOKING?!” she yelled. “I HEARD YOU WERE SUMMONED!”
"Yeah !! " I forced a smile even though I was scared of what is going to happen
Mary’s face went pale.
“…Summoned,” she repeated slowly. Very slowly. Like each syllable was a funeral bell.
Then—
She grabbed my face.
Both cheeks.
Hard.
“MARY—!”
“ARE YOU INTACT?!” she demanded, inspecting me like a cracked teacup. “All limbs present? Soul still inside? No mysterious black smoke following you?!”
I am still not visited the young master , so please calm down Mary froze.
“…You haven’t visited him yet?” she asked softly.
I shook my head.
Once.
Very slowly.
For exactly three seconds, she stared at me.
Then she screamed.
“WHY ARE YOU SO CALM THEN?!”
“I AM NOT CALM,” I snapped. “THIS IS MY FACE WHEN I’M DISSOCIATING.”
She grabbed her own head. “AMELIA. DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO MAIDS WHO ARE ABOUT TO VISIT HIM?”.
"What will happen?" I asked
Oh sweet summer idiot.”
She immediately dragged a chair, shoved me down, and crouched in front of me like a battlefield medic.
“Okay. Listen. We need to prepare.”
“…Prepare for what?”
“Survival.”
She started counting on her fingers.
“Rule one: Do NOT make eye contact.”
“What if he talks to me?”
"Then bow don't look at him "
Mary had just opened her mouth to continue—probably to reveal Rule Three: Accept Your Fate Gracefully—when—
KNOCK.
Not the polite knock.
The important knock.
The kind that says someone powerful is about to ruin your day.
Mary froze mid-finger count.
I froze mid-panic.
The door opened silently, because of course it did, and the butler stepped in.
Tall. Straight-backed. Expression calm enough to make a coffin jealous.
This man looked like he had personally escorted generations of nobles to their graves and then gone back to polishing silverware.
Mary instantly snapped to attention. “B-Butler!”
I followed half a second later, nearly tripping over the chair. “S-Sir!”
He looked at me.
His gaze was heavy. Measured. The kind that weighed your soul, your past life choices, and whether you deserved mercy.
“…Miss Amelia,” he said slowly.
Yes.
That’s me.
Still breathing. For now.
“You are summoned.”
I tagged along with the butler. After reaching the male lead's door the head butler began to speak
“Miss Amelia,” he said calmly.
" Please be careful with what you will behave inside" he said.
But why does it sound like a warning.
I gulped before entering the room
So hard my soul made the Windows shutdown sound.
The butler opened the door just enough for Doom™ to leak out.
Dark curtains.
Low mana pressure.
The unmistakable vibe of someone is emotionally unavailable and violently rich.
Oh Lord, Jesus, Bodhisattva, my ancestors, my past-life Wi-Fi provider—please be on my side,” I whIspered as I stepped in.
As i stepped inside i found the room was very dark, the curtains are closed
As I stepped further I found a figure .
He looked…
Wrong.
Not handsome-dangerous-red-flag wrong.
More like someone forgot to water their final boss wrong.
Jet-black hair spilled over his shoulders, messy in an “I haven’t slept, eaten, or emotionally processed anything” way.
Blood-red eyes—yes, terrifying—but dull. Unfocused. Like they were running on one percent battery.
And his body—
Oh.
Oh no.
He looked like a strong breeze could file a complaint and knock him over.
That’s the tyrant?
My brain blinked.
Twice.
…Is this the same man who massacres an entire hall later in the novel?
Because right now he looked like he’d lose a fight to stairs.
The butler told me that he suffers from mana fever
Before learning what mana fever is let me explain the novel settings of
"WHEN THE MONSTER LOVES YOU TOO MUCH "
In the novel, Long ago, after the Sun Goddess Luna created the empire, she realized something very important.
Humans + absolute power \= chaos with better outfits.
So she split her divine mana and entrusted it to four great houses, each governing a fundamental force of the world.
To keep the empire stable.
To prevent destruction.
And—ironically—to ensure future plot suffering.
House Heather — Darkness
Masters of night, shadows, and the abyss between light. Their mana is cold, heavy, and devours excess energy. They are the counterbalance.
🔥 House Belmont — Fire
Raw destruction and rebirth. Their mana burns violently, often shortening their lifespan. Temper issues included.
🌪️ House Ravenshade — Wind
Speed, sound, and unseen blades. Their mana is light, unstable, and sharp. They hear secrets they wish they hadn’t.
House Solvane Atherton — Light (Imperial Family)
Purification. Authority. Absolute dominance. Their mana is overwhelming. Blinding. Too much.
And that—
That is the problem.
According to the novel,"When a person inherits more mana than their body can withstand… the mana begins to consume them from the inside.”
The mana fever symptoms include
High body temperature
Mana leakage
Hallucinations
Loss of control
And in extreme cases—
“…berserk.”
the butler explained me the same things that was mentioned in the novel which i already know after I came back from serving him.
Oh.
OH.
I think—
I think I just found out why I reincarnated early.
I walked back to my room afterward in a daze, tray empty, soul slightly singed, lifespan noticeably shortened.
Mary grabbed me the moment I entered.
“So?” she whispered. “Did you die?”
“…Not today.”
She collapsed in relief.
I lay flat on my bed, staring at the ceiling, brain replaying everything like a cursed highlight reel.
Mana fever.
Too much light.
House Heather being the only counterbalance.
And me—
A random extra maid.
Alive.
Useful.
Early.
(" AAA!! Too much information that made my head burst. I think I have avoided the red flag for now and for the male lead he seems pretty weak..Then should I try to get his good side").
Then it's decided I Will tame the tyrant and avoid the dead flag
But then I did not know that my foolish decision will cost my future.
