Chapter II

"Alright, that would be all for today. Please help Sir Ishikawa with the lessons that he missed. And please show him around, Class Representative. Go have your lunch."

The teacher smiles and leaves the room with her belongings before Amane could utter a word.

Amane felt her soul leaving her body upon hearing the teacher's words. She slowly turned around to face Kuroo, but quickly looked away when she found him already looking at her.

'The day isn't over, yet mine is already over!'

She let out a sigh before dropping her head on her wooden desk, causing the students who haven't left the room yet to look at her. She raised her head a little when she heard two feminine voices laughing.

"What's wrong, Amane?"

The girl with wavy black hair asks as she sits at the empty side in front of her.

"Usually, you're full of energy. How come you look very stressed right now, hm?"

This time, a girl with shoulder-length brown hair asks as she ruffles Amane's blonde hair.

Amane looked away for a moment before a sigh left her lips.

"It's nothing serious, I was just tired because I ran from the library to here."

Amane chuckled sheepishly while scratching her right cheek lightly.

The wavy black haired girl let out a chuckle before flicking her forehead gently.

"Idiot."

Amane pout a little causing the girl with shoulder-length brown hair and the wavy haired girl to laugh and Amane's pout widened.

"It's not funny, you know. Your precious friend is tired, yet you two are laughing about it. What good friends you two are."

The two girls stop laughing and hug her while Amane continues pouting.

"You're cute if you pout, but you're cuter if you smile."

The girl with shoulder-length brown hair smiled and the wavy black haired girl nodded her head vigorously causing Amane's pout to disappear and replaced with a genuine smile.

"Sheesh, you two… You always manage to make me smile and I wonder why."

Amane smile and return their hugs.

"Hm, maybe it's because you love us?"

The wavy black haired girl smiled as she let go of Amane and the girl with shoulder length brown hair.

"Hm, maybe."

Amane grin and the two let out chuckles.

"Well, it seems that I can't eat lunch with you guys today. I still need to show the new student around, so you guys eat without me."

Amane smiled as she wore her backpack before standing up from her seat.

Now it was their turn to pout and Amane couldn't help but to chuckle.

"Now, now, don't be like that. You already know that I feel bad if any of you pouts, yet you're doing it, how unfair."

Amane smiles at them before looking at Kuroo's seats only to find that he's not there anymore.

She didn't notice the thin line that forms on her lips when she found out that Kuroo was no longer in his seat.

'What did I expect? He hates me.'

"How long are you planning to delay my lunch?"

Amane jumped a little at the husky voice behind her and quickly took a few steps back with a squeak that escaped her lips.

"H-How l-long have you been there?!"

She asks in a little loud voice, but apologizes to the students left in the room right away when she notices how loud her voice was which they brush off with a friendly smile.

"He's been there since dismissal."

The wavy black haired girl said and the girl with shoulder length brown hair nodded her head in agreement and popped a lollipop in her mouth.

An irk mark appears on her forehead upon hearing her friends' words before pinching their noses.

"Then why didn't you tell me, you idiots!"

She said in a harsh whisper before huffing her cheeks out and the two of them wince in pain.

Amane heave out a sigh before speaking to Kuroo who was standing behind Amane the whole time.

"I'm sorry for making you wait. I'll show you around now and as an apology, you can decide where I would bring you first."

Amane forces a smile at Kuroo and he only looks at her blankly before responding.

"It doesn't matter where you show me first, just make this fast. I don't want to stay with you any longer."

Amane felt a pang on her heart when she heard him whisper the last part but still force a smile.

"Of course."

Amane forces a smile and the two girls behind her notice that it was fake and frown the moment they notice her fake smile.

'Do they know each other? Why would Amane act like that toward him…'

"Well, I need to go now. See you later, Rose, Mei. Have a pleasant lunch date."

Amane waves her hand and the two return back the gesture.

The two of them watch the retreating form of Kuroo and Amane with thin lines forming on their lips.

'It seems that I must find out what their relationship is…'
