There was a girl once—
A little girl who knew nothing about being perfect. She only knew how to laugh, how to dream, how to find happiness in the smallest things.
But as she grew older, happiness became a luxury.
"Come first." "Be better." "Do more." "Don't disappoint us."
The weight of expectations sat on her shoulders long before she was strong enough to carry it.
She thought, "At least my best friend understands me."
But somehow, she became the one fixing broken hearts while her own heart bled in silence. And when things fell apart, the blame found its way back to her.
Maybe I am dumb, she thought.
Maybe I am the problem.
Then someone entered her life. Not as a lover— just a friend.
So she trusted him.
And trust, once again, became another wound.
The same hands she believed in pointed at her and called her names. The same person she respected turned her kindness into something ugly.
She smiled anyway.
Even when the words stayed inside her head for years.
Even when her parents thought time would heal what was never treated.
Even when every scar learned how to hide itself.
She kept trying.
Trying to prove her worth. Trying to explain her heart. Trying to show people who she really was.
And then she fell in love.
Not because she needed saving, but because she wanted a place to rest.
Yet even there, she was told she wasn't enough.
That her love was only words. That her behavior was wrong. That somehow, once again, she was the one failing.
And now she sits alone, holding a heart stitched together a thousand times.
Tired.
So tired.
Not of loving.
Not of caring.
But of being the only one who never leaves.
The little girl who only wanted to be happy still lives inside her.
She's crying.
Not because she's weak—
but because she carried everyone's expectations, everyone's pain, everyone's disappointments...
for so long,
that she forgot how it feels
to be held instead of holding everyone else.
And still—
every morning she wakes up, wearing a smile stitched together from pieces of yesterday's pain.
Nobody sees the battles behind her quiet eyes.
Nobody hears the screams she swallows before they leave her lips.
They see her laugh, they see her help others, they see her standing.
So they assume she is healing.
But some wounds do not bleed outside.
Some wounds become part of your soul.
She learned how to survive without being understood.
She learned how to cry without making a sound.
And perhaps the most heartbreaking thing of all—
is that after everything, after every betrayal, every cruel word, every shattered dream,
she still has a heart gentle enough to love people sincerely.
A heart that keeps hoping someone will stay.
Someone will choose her.
Someone will finally look at her and say,
"You don't have to be strong today.
I've got you."

"She carried everyone's expectations, everyone's pain, everyone's storms... yet when she finally broke, nobody noticed the girl who was drowning behind the smile."
