My Secret Crush
Tanya was the kind of girl everyone liked.
She was good at her studies, always scoring well in exams, and teachers often used her as an example in class. But she wasn’t the typical “only studies” type of student. Tanya loved laughing with her friends, making jokes during breaks, and enjoying every little moment of school life.
Because of her friendly nature, she had friends not only in her own class but also in other sections. Teachers trusted her, classmates loved her company, and her days were always filled with laughter and fun.
Her best friend Sana was always by her side. The two of them shared everything—secrets, jokes, and even silly dreams about the future.
Life was simple and happy.
Until one day, a new student entered their class.
It was during their 9th standard when a boy named Aarav transferred from another school. The moment he walked into the classroom, everyone turned to look at him. New students always attracted attention.
But Aarav was different.
He was quiet… almost too quiet.
While other boys in the class loved talking loudly, joking with girls, and showing off in front of everyone, Aarav mostly stayed in his own world. He rarely spoke to girls and never tried to start conversations with them.
However, with his guy friends, he was completely different.
He laughed with them, talked freely, and sometimes even showed a surprisingly funny side.
Tanya noticed all of this.
At first, she didn’t care much about him. To her, he was just another student in the class.
But after a few days, something about him started catching her attention.
“In a world full of boys who try to flirt with every girl they see… this guy doesn’t even care,” she once thought to herself.
It was strange.
Sometimes girls from the class tried to talk to him, but he simply answered shortly and went back to his friends. He never tried to impress anyone.
And that made him… interesting.
Without realizing it, Tanya started observing him during class.
Sometimes she secretly looked at him while the teacher was explaining lessons. Sometimes she noticed the way he laughed with his friends or the random jokes he made.
He was quiet… mysterious… but also funny in his own way.
And slowly, Tanya began to admire him.
One day during a school fest, Tanya saw Aarav wearing a really nice outfit. His hairstyle was neatly styled, and he looked completely different from his usual school uniform look.
Tanya couldn’t help but smile.
“His outfit and hairstyle look really good, right?” she casually said.
Her best friend Sana, who was standing beside her, heard it. Sana slightly raised her eyebrow for a moment, as if she noticed something unusual, but she didn’t say anything and simply ignored it.
Days passed.
Tanya’s interest in Aarav slowly turned into something deeper.
She began noticing him more often.
Looking at him during class… watching him laugh with his friends… sometimes even thinking about him without any reason.
But she never told anyone.
Not even Sana.
Then one day, something unexpected happened.
Their English lecturer was absent, and the entire class became noisy. Some students were playing games, some were gossiping, and others were simply enjoying the free period.
Tanya and Sana decided to play Truth or Dare.
They sat near the window, laughing and taking turns.
Finally, it was Tanya’s turn.
“Truth or Dare?” Sana asked with a mischievous smile.
“Truth,” Tanya answered confidently.
Sana leaned closer and asked the question that made Tanya’s heart skip a beat.
“Do you have a crush on anyone in this class?”
Tanya froze for a second.
Her heart started beating faster.
She quickly shook her head.
“No.”
But deep inside, she knew that wasn’t the truth.
She was completely obsessed with Aarav.
Sana narrowed her eyes.
“Don’t lie to me,” she said playfully. “Tell me the truth. Who do you like?”
Tanya tried to avoid the question, but Sana kept insisting.
“Come on… I know you’re hiding something.”
After a long moment of hesitation, Tanya finally gave up.
She took a deep breath and quietly said the name she had been hiding in her heart.
“Aarav.”
Sana’s eyes widened in surprise.
“What?! Aarav?”
Tanya quickly covered her face with her hands, feeling embarrassed.
“Yes… I like him,” she admitted softly.
Sana stared at her for a few seconds, and then a knowing smile slowly appeared on her face.
“I knew it,” Sana said.
Tanya looked at her in confusion. “You knew?”
Sana nodded. “Yeah. I got a doubt that day during the school fest when you said he looked good. I’ve never heard you praising any boy before. That’s when I started suspecting something.”
Tanya felt even more embarrassed hearing that.
Then Sana leaned closer and said seriously, “If you really like him, you should confess your feelings.”
Tanya immediately shook her head in panic.
“What? No! I can’t do that!”
“But why?” Sana asked.
Tanya stayed silent for a moment.
Her mind was filled with one terrifying thought.
“What if he rejects me?” she said quietly.
What if he laughs at her feelings?
What if everything becomes awkward between them?
She was already going crazy thinking about him every day.
If he rejected her… she didn’t know how she would handle it.
Tanya slowly looked across the classroom.
Aarav was sitting with his friends, laughing about something like always.
He looked completely normal… completely unaware that someone in the same classroom was secretly falling for him.
Tanya quickly looked away.
Her heart whispered the truth she was too scared to say out loud.
She was falling for him.
But she had no idea…
that this silent crush would soon turn her life upside down.
