MEET THE CHARACTERS

MONICA ALMEIDA, 25, is a strong, resilient, and intelligent woman, though she spent most of her life believing she was "less than" because of her appearance. Chubby since childhood, she grew up hearing comparisons to her sister and learning to shrink herself to fit other people's expectations.

HELENA ALMEIDA, 28, never studied and never worked. She lives off her family, spoiled to the extreme. She didn't take it well when she got a younger sister, so she always made a point of stealing every bit of attention Monica received -- despite her sister being better than her in many ways, she refuses to accept it.
